In an exclusive and moving interview with the News of the World, sex-change dad Thomas Beatie and his wife Nancy tell of their joy. And he reveals unseen family snaps of his astonishing early life as a teenage beauty queen.
"I feel fantastic," he said. "I cannot wait to see my baby's face."

In a tender and intimate moment, Thomas shares a cuddle with wife Nancy—before telling the News of the World of his secret hopes for the future.


With four weeks to go, he sensationally reveals the couple are ready to have MORE BABIES after the birth of their daughter.

And as well as posing for these amazing world exclusive pictures, Thomas opens up his family album to show unseen snaps of his life as a teenage beauty queen.

Thomas—who changed sex ten years ago but kept his ovaries and womb so he could have children—told us: "I feel on top of the world.

"I'm 36 weeks now and almost due but I feel fantastic. Every day Nancy a

nd I think about how we just cannot wait to hold our daughter for the first time, to finally get to touch her and see her face.

"We have her nursery ready and her diapers are lined up in her bedroom. Everything is ready to go.

"We have even picked a name which we both love—although we're waiting until she is born before we tell anyone. All the people who really know us and love us, our friends and family, have been incredibly supportive.

"So much so we might even have more children. We will just see what the experience is like with our daughter's arrival first and then give it some thought."

Thomas, 34, posed naked for our fascinating new pictures which show just how extraordinary this pregnancy is as he even SHAVES while resting his elbow on his baby bump.

And the photos from his past document his transformation from a Hawaiian beauty called Tracy Lagondino into the man he is today.

Brave Thomas has caused worldwide controversy over the "reverse" pregnancy, which was the only way he and Nancy could have children.

But at the centre of the storm, all has been calm, as Thomas explains: "Everything has been excellent. I have been so lucky. I didn't have any discomforts or ailments.

"In fact when I found out I was pregnant I went online and read how a lot of women suffer back pain but I haven't had any. It has been remarkably easy.



"And when Nancy and I saw the first scans it was just such an incredible emotional experience we did not care what some people were saying about us.

"To be able to see her face, her lips, her body made all the abuse we have endured worthwhile.

"She went from being a figment of hope to a real person, our baby and the experience has been magical.

"Starting a family was a dream Nancy and I had shared for some time, and in four weeks our dream is about to come true. We just cannot wait."

Thomas had his breasts removed ten years ago but chose to keep his female reproductive organs because Nancy, 45, had undergone a hysterectomy.

When the time came, he had to stop taking his sex-change testosterone hormone so he could start ovulating again.


Sorry Bub. You are not a man. You are a female. I don't care. You weren't happy with the way nature made you, so you changed and now you call yourself a man? Nope. Take all the male hormones you want. Cut your breasts out. You still have ovaries. Think about this genius...what are all those male hormones going to do to that baby? Why do you think you lost those twins? Sometimes, people need to buck up and accept who they are. If you're born black, so be it. If you're born a woman, leave it. We don't need to talk of God or what other people think is right. Nature is right, and I think you are playing with fire. Let's see all the weird diseases that pop up in your body after you yo-yo between being a 'man' and a 'woman' read up on it, they will come. If you're gay, fine. Be gay. This is over the top and I'm sorry, in my opinion people should shut up and stop calling this person a 'man' she isn't nor will she ever be.

That is just plain disgusting. Wonder how they'll explain it to the baby when it gets older. Is he/she going to be " dad' or " mom" to the kid? Sick.

I'm sorry, but this story is just so bizarre that I really can't wrap my mind around all the ramifications.

When I first heard of this, I was immediately reminded of the Biblical prophesy which basically says that if God doesn't intervene at the end, mankind will destroy itself. (Matt 24 and Mark 13)

Don't tell him to go screw himself - he may take you up on that.

All b.s. aside - it'll be interesting to see how this plays out after the baby is born.

You're right, it probably is doing havoc.

But, aside from that, the child will be totally and absolutely unique in all the history of the earth. From creation (or the Big Bang if you prefer) there has never been a single, solitary human being in history like that child will be. Not one. Not ever. He/She will have no frame of reference, no peers, not a single solitary other person to whom they can turn for guidance or correction who has had a similar experience.

From Adam and Eve to right now, we ALL know that we are the product of a father and mother. We may not know them or give a damn about them, but our genetics, our self-identity, is rooted in the duality of our nature, the combination of two very seperate and very distinct other human beings. We are who we are because of the conjoining of two very different people and our perception of that duality of their personalities, genetics and history.

That child will not know that. He/She will ultimately understand the genetics of it all, but will never know the differences between Mom and Dad. To her/him, they will be same person.

Imagine that, if you can, from your own childhood.

According to this story, she halted the sex-change procedure prior to becoming pregnant. (I've seen similar statements in other articles on this story, but can't be bothered to search further.) Presumably, that included stopping the hormones - though the facial hair calls that into question.

It's got 2 X chromosomes in it's sex determinate site. Therefore it is female. It has a uterus.... again, FEMALE.

Also, it is pregnant, and therefore is "Mom."

This is NOT the first pregnant male.... it isn't male.

Just because you ALMOST finished, even if you did finish.... you are STILL the sex you were born.

Remember this baby's name when it is born. I guarantee down the road this kid will grow up a serial killer or a sexual predator. What a screwed up way to bring a child into the world.
