Hyperbole: exageration for effect, not meant to be taken literally.
I didn't notice any shocked reaction from the college crowd there, so they must have recognized the use of hyperbole. The FOX Noise crowd is another matter though. It obviously went right over their heads. |

Possibly both. 71% believed that Edwards isn't fooling anyone and might as well just come out of the freakin' closet already. A plurality - 29% - chose as the phrase that best describes Edwards: "disturbingly baby-faced waterboy for the DNC Kool-Aid Brewer's Union". "Candy-***" came in a close second at 27%. 4% kept responding to questions with "nude Olsen twins" - they probably meant to type that in the browser window with Google Images open in it. Another 4% (possibly the same 4%) kept responding with "my baggie's empty". -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keep in mind that this poll may not be representative or even accurate, since 100% of respondents also said that "having a MySpace page is cool" |

I am no fan of that man. He is far too "perfectly groomed" for me. And, I don't agree with his politics. But, I must point out that his comment is somewhat correct. He was referring to our social answers to particular problems. And, the links that were provided do not show his elaboration on the topic. So, I will have to call "snippit BS" on this particular subject. Like I said, I don't like the man at all. But, at least give us a full viewing of his entire comment. He may have shot himself in the foot. But, I would at least like to see the entire comment. Not just a snapshot of the risque subject matter.

I doubt he was inferring that black people are more criminal than others. But rather was being ironical about the way the proportion of blacks in US prisons have skyrocketed in the past decade.

The point he was trying to make, but failed miserably...is that Bush doesn't care about black people. Kanye West anybody?
He was saying we need to do something other than build prisons b/c that isn't helping the problem. My question to him would be..what do you propose? Do you propose that people don't take on personal responsibility, or do you propose that we coddle criminals? He would have done better to touch on those who may be falsely imprisoned, due to lack of funds (for a good lawyer) or something along those lines. "It is the weak who are cruel. Ones race does not mean they need special priveliges over other Americans regardless of how bad things used to be. If we want to go foreward, we need to learn from our bad past and move into greener pastures by using the tools and resources that are available to all Americans. Any class of people in America has the ability to move into another class by their own actions and choices!
John Edwards is a loon, and now his spoken words just show us what an idiot he really is (not that most did not allready know)! |
