In a never ending continuation of her inimitible screw-ups, Danica Patrick continues to demonstrate just how far over her head she remains, and a danger to herself and those around her:

I would like to see a woman play someday in the NFL. I would like to see a woman pitch in Major League Baseball someday. I would like to see a woman driver in NASCAR someday. I would like to see a woman in the White House someday. I would like to see a woman with no tattoo's, rings in their bodies or false boobs someday. You know why I'd like to see this someday? Because that would mean I'd live to be 180 years old. Big Grin

Negative. I enjoy watching Sarah Fisher, and actually root for her; Fisher is making the most of her talent, her funding, and making her way the old fashioned way - EARNING it on her performance.

Patrick? Is an under-talented over-hyped auto racing recreation of a certain blonde Russian tennis "star" whose main claim to fame was being created as a "celebrity", complete with the cheese-cake photos. Only the strength of her team has been able to overcome her monumental screw-ups, and her one win was the result of superior planning by the Andretti crew. Given the opportunity and massive amounts of money squandered on this disaster? There should be a championship already won...

Andretti had a clear view of what happened.
"It's a dangerous situation; a crowded pit lane, a lot going on," Andretti said. "You don't like to see that kind of thing but it's not Danica's fault. Stuff happens. Racing is dangerous. We're very concerned and hopefully it will turn out good."
quote:
"He was actually walking down pit lane (running an errand) down by the Andretti Green pits," said Dale Coyne Racing chief mechanic Mitch Davis. "The Green guys said he was walking along, looked back at Marco Andretti, stepped to the right and when he did he stepped right in front of her. He was going back to the garage to get something.
It looks like he was in the wrong place and not watching where he was going. Drivers with a clear view said it was not her fault. You gonna believe the professionals or bias?

This stuff happens in NASCAR, and the only REASON she is being singled out is because she is female.

Talk about being biased.

Earlier today Ms. Patrick averaged for 4 laps just over 225 MPH posting the fastest average at Indy today. Having driven open wheel racers (Formula Ford) myself for a few years, I can tell you, I'm impressed.

She is obviously an elite, talented driver by any definition of gender.

Racing teams don't hire untalented individuals. She had to have talent, otherwise she would be a groupie.

If anybody has gotten a free ride in motor sports its Dale Jr. When was the last time he won a race? How many races this year has the driver Hendrick Motor Sports gave the boot so that they could bring that loser Dale Jr onboard? Oh by the way it was no talent Dale Jr that caused that wreck last week not Busch.

I hope Danica wins the Indy 500 and makes the jump to NASCAR next year. You go GIRL!!!

I believe he’s talking about a FULLTIME CUP SERIES Women Driver. Danica would be the first if she makes the jump to NASCAR.

What Danica Patrick does best? Is follow in the footsteps of Anna Kournakova as a "celebrity" who takes her clothes off:

I initially was enthused about Danica Patrick and her ascesion into the IRL. However... after three years of an endless continuation if "incidents" which follow her around "like white on rice" - or "stink on ****" - I have come to listen to what my longtime friends within the Indy car world have had to say about her...

She is a joke - FAR over her head - and a danger to not only herself, but to all around her. What "respect" I had for the individual vanished with the cheesecake photos, which are what has paved her way into a "seat". She generates sponsorship revenues because of her sexuality - feigned or otherwise - rather than on track results.

To have all the money, technology, and cubic dollars squandered on such a monumental under-achiever who generally finishes well down in the field - with arguably the best equipment on the track - earns nothing but dismissal as to any "talent". Mediocrity, at best.

Can hardly wait for her to battle Britney Spears as to see who can be the most undressed in a public/pubic setting... yeah... that makes me REALLY "respect" her "talent" as a racer. Roll Eyes

Having spent 15 years road racing motorcycles professionally - and internationally - and to have tested in several cars in different series when my motorcycle career was closing (amongst those being NASCAR, Formula Atlantic, and CART cars), but struggling to keep my weight down to 170 pounds on my six foot frame... I am WELL aware of the inherrent advantages of a diminutive rider/driver, and also my disadvantage of being "too big" to compete in those cars.

When I ran in a new engine for a local Formula Ford team, I broke the car owner's lap record at that track. The SCCA regional director was in attendance that day, and was ready to write me a professional license in ANY series I wanted to pursue. However... again, being the "fat boy" (and in my 30s), my sponsorship would not carry over from motorcycle into cars. And the reality is that a driver basically "buys" their seat in a race car with their sponsorship.

Danica Patrick generates sponsorship because she is a "celebrity", but NOT because of her on-track record. Bobby Rahal basically gave up on her, and she ran to Andretti-Green in the hope of getting the best equipment in the series. Last years results amply demonstrate what a monumental failure she has been, other than one instance of "an economy run" at the end of the singular race she has won, and everyone else was limited on boost and fuel enrichment (horsepower), and her diminutive size - along with superior strategy from the Andretti team - brought her what will likely remain as the ONLY time she will win an IRL race.

As stated... I have come to agree with my friends in the Indy car world... to include a couple of car owners: Danica Patrick is a JOKE.
