Considering the world-wide riotting that is going on because of inflated food prices, at what point must America reach to riot herself?

A rise in beer tax would be complete BS. Beer is mainly transported via Train and not Truck right?

Can't say I have ever seen trains pull up behind a Jewel Osco, Wal Mart, Cosco, Kroegers. Hmmm, I don't even remember train tracks being in front of markets.

I have seen plenty of Budweiser, Miller's, Coors, etc. trucks though.

Izzy: I'm mainly talking about cross country trans, as far as I know beer gets transported to the distrubtor via train and from there it goes on trucks....

This is what I thought..but anyways, what about the Article? That could very well happen in the US and if it does it will be way worst than what is happening overseas...

Lots of beer cars that get loaded at the warehouse behind the railyard I work at.
They go all over the country and get unloaded at distribution centers then loaded onto semi's and beer goes to your local store to be purchased and enjoyed by the masses..... Beer

If you're upset by rising food prices, you have no one to blame but Algore and his ilk. The consequences of the success of his Global Warming Scam are now beginning to be felt. This spike in food prices is just the beginning.

WHAT????
It surely couldn't have anything to do with the price of oil tripling in the last 5 years...who has money in the oil business???...hint: it's not Gore.
No it must be a Democrats fault no matter how idiotic the excuse... Roll Eyes

Are you denying that the environmental lobby and the Dem politicians under their thumb are largely to blame for the steadily rising price of crude? Remember, they are responsible for not allowing the US to build any new refineries, (for decades), drill offshore, drill in ANWR,(or just about anywhere within our own country).

They are responsible for the subsidizing of ever-increasing ethanol production, (which is directly responsible for skyrocketing corn and animal feed prices), a proposed oil-replacement that is proving to be less viable and more costly than oil with every passing day.

The environazis are also responsible for causing much of the current domestic energy "crisis", as they've kept our country from building any more nuclear power plants for decades, with a ridiculous movie as their "argument" against developing a robust system of plants that could easily and very cleanly provide all the energy American households would need. But no, we can't have that, haven't you seen The China Syndrome?! Roll Eyes

So, thanks in large part to the Sierra Club and its pet Dems, we are now facing escalating energy prices across the board, and when it comes to petroleum, our country is subject to the whims of OPEC members and other foreign petroleum-producing countries, (many of whom are openly hostile to us, such as Venezuela). Thanks much, guys.

First point hell no no one will riot, they'll just keep paying high prices just like we pay high prices for fuel. Here's an interesting note American's drive almost 20% more today than they did 7 years ago despite the tripling of gas prices. Americans complain but we still continue to drive more. SO no we'll keep eating more.

As far as two people bickering about which political party is under the thumb of big oil? That to me is hilarious when people blame one party or the other and say that it's only ONE party or the other that is under their thumb. These people are either very dumb or very ignorant. Here's a hint; ALL POLITICIANS ARE UNDER THE THUMB OF BIG OIL.

Oh yeah it's totally Al Gore's fault. Has nothing to do with the $9 trillion debt, insanely expensive war, insanely expensive gas, incredibly weak dollar, trade deficit, etc.

No it's just Al Gore's fault.

I may be wrong on this but didn't Bush sign off on some of the ethanol subsidies?

I don't think we need to go that far, but buying local and seasonal is always better, and if you can grow a few things, that will help as well.

The wife and I have a sizeable garden and plant many of the vegetables we eat. Unfortunately, there are too many things I like to eat that I can't grow, like pizza, steak, ice cream, etc. Oh, and beer and cigars. I'm screwed if they ever impose those 1000 percent tax increases on beer and cigars...

Well now, let's see...

Prior to 1992, the United States had a very robust Domestic Petroleum Industry, and World crude prices had moderated considerably from their spikes of the 1970's.

Enter Worthless Willie, who delivers a double-whammy to that robust industry, first by giving free rein to the Eco-NAZI's who saw to it that undeveloped domestic crude deposits would be placed off-limits to exploration and exploitation.

This of course allowed opportunity to foreign producers to dump their product at bargain-basement prices, thereby killing the incentive to continue domestic production in existing fields.

It was cheaper to just plug those holes and walk away.

With that accomplished, those foreign producers proceeded to jack their prices to their heart's content.

Of course when that happened, rather than use common sense and return to producing our own petroleum, we're told that we have to find ALTERNATIVES....

We start to move to so-called Biofuels, which requires more fuel from the Black Stuff than is yielded by the Green Stuff, which results in a considerable net loss.

Ready supplies of the Black Stuff are depleted even further.

(Oh hey; don't let me forget to mention that even if we were pullin' the Black Stuff out of the ground, we're severely restricted in our ability to PROCESS it {Thanks again, Eco-Nuts!}.)

Of course, we cannot overlook the fact that supplies of Feed Stocks and Food Stocks are being depleted at the same time.

Higher cost of fuel equals higher costs of production and transport equals higher costs to the consumer.

Diversion of agricultural production to counter-productive - and much more expensive - "alternative" fuel scams means there is less available to put into our bellies.

Cranks those prices even further.

So what's all the b*tchin' about?

Isn't this what all you Lefties were wishing for and demanding?

You got just EXACTLY what you were lookin' for.

No, there won't be food riots here.

What there WILL be is more deficit spending to "help" people with the cost of food. We have a social saftey net, paid for by the taxpayers, and it WILL be expanded if food cost becomes a crisis.

Same here in Chicago. I lived near the Anheuser Bush distributor for a few years. Rail line in the back and truck docks in the front.

Blame Ethanol for driving the price of food up. Not the cost of moving product from point a to point b.

Algore is a major share holder in Occidental Oil. His daddy got them for long and faithful service to Armen Hammer while serving as a US Senator.

Don't forget the pigeons. And the Chinese have a delicacy called Rat on a stick.

As I said blame Ethanol. Farmers are forgoing the planting of other crops in order to cash in on the Ethanol scam.

Ethanol raises the price of corn which is used in just about all processed foods in one form or an other.

Ethanol is just another in a long list of environmental wackos' ill conceived ideas. When will we have the courage to stop these wackos from killing people and ruining mankind's standard of living.

Save America and the world. Find an environmental wackos and club him or her like a baby seal.
