LeMond Tourmelet - 200 mpg of water
BikeE - 120 mpg of water
Giant - 150 mpg of water
Schwinn - 130 mpg of water
Olds Silhouette - 25 mpg of gasoline
and the wife drives a Chevrolet Impala sporty thing. It's advertised to get more mileage than it actually does. We're both moderates, but she's a little more right of center.

1986 Chevrolet Caprice Classic, 4 door sedan
186,885.4 original miles as of today.
Am the second owner of it...my late Father was the original owner. I've had it since March of 1998, inherited it.
This beauty is still rock solid, original engine/transmission. Never has been rebuilt/overhauled. Just the usual maintenance and replacement of parts as needed...starter, new carb, flywheel, shocks, brakes, water pump, radiator, front end suspension, tune up. Hell...the distributor is original! Body and interior are cherry! Believe it or not, certain parts like the front end suspension, are still available...not 'after market parts', either!

Prior...1980 Chevrolet Impala 4 door.
Prior...1975 Jeep CJ7
Prior...1966 Pontiac LeMans 2 door
Prior...1963 Ford Fairlane 500 4 door

What's the first digit of your VIN? Because that's what will tell you where it was really assembled. You might be surprised.

That's why it's important to look at the Country of Origin sticker on the car. My husband and I are both union, that said, my Saturn is 85% American made and my husband's Dodge pick-up was 75% (not that great but it's hard to find better these days.) We always research that before we buy because you never know...

Got to love the Trabant. It's no BMW, but it's still good old (Ost) German. A great second hand car for liberals......... Big Grin With DDR markings of course!

I drive many different vehicles but my main ride is a TREK 820 extended frame. No desire to reduce a footprint carbon or otherwise, I do it for my health. 30 miles a day when I'm home and less when on the road due to lack of geographical knowledge of some locales.
My mileage can be verified at the Milwaukie Oregon American Legion Post 180. I roll in regularly to the cheers of the "smokers corner" and the others who wonder who the old guy on the bike is. Roll Eyes

Did that have the stock 352 Thunderbird or the 360 Police Interceptor?

A buddy of mine had a 1961 Starliner (White Hardtop Coupe w/red interior) with the latter; for a "Lead-sled" that thing could move pretty darn good!

Cool

Sounds right! With the 360 and 390, when you punched it, the only question was which needle pinned out first; the Speedometer or the Gas-gauge!

The 352 Thunderbird was surprisingly easy on the wallet, but then again, gas at that time was only between $.35 and $.65 per gallon!

Ahh, dem waz da days! Cool

I failed to mention that in 1967 I also bought a ’67 Thunderbird. This was the biggest lemon Ford ever made. It was in the shop so much I bought the LTD just to have a car to drive. That ’67 T-Bird was a total disaster. The only thing that actually worked well in that car was the clock. It still had dealer’s tags on it when the drive shaft fell off (on Stemmons Freeway in Dallas) and that was just a sign of things to come. I kept that car for 13 months, it was in the shop for 5 of those 13 months, and Ford just couldn’t seem to repair it. After 13 months of this I gave it back to Ford.
