So, what do you think will happen when the Feds legislate tighter gun laws or severely limit ammo. The ferel pig lobby will be ecstatic. Not so much the farmers.

Emotional, bogus terminology, not backed by any facts - -

not an actual bomb with pigs in it, but an explosion of genetically superior wild hogs in the U.S. The show warns us of pigs taking over the world. There can't be more than a few Bearsharktopuses.

I never saw an animal that couldn't be hunted into submission if the right methods are put in place. Put a $50.00 bounty on the critters, open the land to year-around hunting, and the critters will vanish... Hell, I'd head down there for that!!

---- I caught the Hunting/Guns show yesterday, (Sat.)... Two guys were hunting ferel hogs with, YOU READY?--with .177 Air Rifles!!! One guy had a .22 Gamo... they had 3 dogs and when the pigs got tired,, Wham! -- I bought a RWS (German made) model 52 about 8 years ago..$530... it`s a .177 & will drill through 2" of ply-wood, easy! For $10 you have pellets to last for years..

If I can continue getting ammo for my Model 70 Deluxe 300 WinMag, that should do the trick. Actually, although I bought a number of firearms for hunting when I retired, I have yet to use them for more than the range in over 20 years. The pigs are still safe from me.

Just about the most exciting hunting I've ever done is hogs!!!

And, I guided for bear in Maine and N.H. for years!! Moose and deer too.

I always used my old Colt S.A.A. 5.34" barrel in .45 cal and it would shoot right through them end to end and side to side...great times!

OH!! DON'T use hollow points, you don't want to blow them up, you want to penetrate them, through and through, and as long as you're blowing half inch holes through them that's good enough!!

I still have to laugh at the folks who think that hunting is a bad thing.

I was chastised in WalMart at the start of last deer season while picking up some .30-06 ammo by some young woman ranting on about the evils of hunting and how we don't have to anymore.

I laughed all the way to the counter Big Grin

What a patriotic thought! I hereby choose to misinterpret the line of this thread!

Let us hunt up...oh...12-14 hundred of these hogs....kill but NOT clean them....load the carcasses into refrigerated containers....fly them to, say, A'stan, and do a carpet bombing with them.

This would solve a couple of "problems" (1) thin out the feral hog population (2) provide a relatively low-cost and short term "area denial" system in support of the troops.

It would actually WORK, but I am equally certain it would never be allowed.

I believe you are referring to the Military Myth of dipping bullets in pig blood against the Moro tribesmen of the Phillipines? That may be what gave me the basic idea.
