What gets a Democratic President impeached seems to be cool with a Republican Senator.

Sen Craig (R-Idaho)announced he was NOT stepping down, even though he has a guilty plea regarding a homosexual solicitation in a Airport bathroom. Seems the good enator doesn't mind helping the Democratic party gain more Senatorial seats and thinks Idaho doesn't care about his sexual antics. Where are all the crying Republican dogs for blood when one of their own gets caught with his pants down?

What's good for the goose (Bill Clinton) is not good for the Gander (Craig)
The Senate has the option of throwing him out on an ethics charge.

Republicans, ya gotta love em...

True, he does seem to be a moron... but for the Democrats to throw a big hissy fit is like the pot calling the kettle black.

I know, Craig is one of the most visible hipocrits in Washington right now... but he is among his peers.

Maybe he should change parties and then it would all be OK.

Yup, that be the whole problem, he belongs to the wrong party.

From what I've seen over the last few years, the Dumbocrats have cornered the moron market.

So, the Republicans have some competition for that title, finally?
I wouldn't care if he wore Rudy Gulliani's dress to congress, as long as he quit voting to spend money like it grew on trees.

But surely the GOP will throw him out if he stops following the party line.

He should resign or appeal the ruling if he is truly innocent.

To those who supported Clinton and his good sexual times as his own personal business should not be clowning this guy now! Wink

He appealed the ruling, and his appeal was rejected.

He pled guilty to solicitation? Clinton was up for impeachment for sex?

No on both counts.

Beyond that I think he is a fool. if he wants gay sex go hook up in a bar and get a room

Giuliani will give her a run for her money, but it is a possibility. The Dems are generally the statistically favored party in 08, but again anything is possible.

Gee I was going to post that Republicans will ignore the pervert and he will be replaced. If he can't go quietly then we will quietly ignore him but this thread no longer is about him.

I sure hope he doesn't get the support of anyone. This is the sort of behavior that is typical of politicians and should not be condoned.

I wonder if cruising restrooms for buttsex is typical behavior for male homosexuals. If it is, I am hoping that it too, is not condoned.

Both Craigs' behaviors are not in the standards expected in my social class, that's for sure.

If you want me to change my opinion, then convince Kerry and Kennedy to step down, both are dangerous to their country, they both lie...Kerry and his swift boat assertions, and Kennedy about his Chappiqudick <sp?>. If I remember correctly, a person died in that incident....why is Kennedy still in office? Why didn't he serve time on manslaughter charges.

Sooooo...before you say anything, look at the fingers point back at the Dumbocrats.

Republican senator Bob Packwood resigned over charges that years earlier he had been a bit improper in his advances on women. Didn't Tower also get in trouble for relationships with women? At the time the Democrats screamed for the head of Mr. Packwood (even though he was ultra liberal) yet came together to support Barney Frank. Now the Democrats are going after Craig in the same way as Folley (an ultra liberal Florida Republican) because they know that many Americans only have a superficial knowledge of politics and will have the impression than Republicans are the "gay party" even though the Democrats are the party that represents the interest of the gay lobby the most.

That said Craig should resign but then again why is Barney Frank still in the House?

For that matter, why was Clinton still allowed to remain in office after he was impeached?

I just get sick and tired of the Dumbocrats claiming a holier than thou attitude with one party, while their...uh stuff stinks in their own.

It doesn't mean a damn thing as to what political party someone belongs to...if the elected official is caught in some illegal actibvity.
There are elected officials from all parties who are guilty of some form of ethics misstep in any form during the course of their career.
One such was Oregon Senator Wes Cooley, who was caught in some dillies in/around 1994-1995...funny that he was not mentioned...
He was in the start of his reelection campaign and the truth of his military service nearly 40 years ago was questioned, as was a few other parts of his life...
Let's just say that he lost big time.

Bottomline, there are politicians from every political party who have gotten caught with their hands in the proverbial cookie jar...and how many of those have been publicily exposed?
Not as many as you are led to think...

There are good and bad Libertarians, good and bad Independents, good and bad 'Greenies', good and bad Democrats, and good and bad Republicans.
No politician is 100% perfect...never was and never will be.

Simple fact is that Mr. Craig fooked up and will have to answer to the people of his state that dually elected him...they, and they alone are the ones, the electorate, that will bear the final decision...as will the Senate in the end.

I also happen to be a registered Republican...have been since 'day one', when I was of the age to vote. I have been not pleased with the elected officals' performances over the years...and that includes the performances of all parties' elected officials...not just my party.
I do not hold just one party responsible for our current woes...it's the collective fault of ALL parties in their unending inability to work together and strive to make our country great. Once they end their petty bickering and finger pointing, will we, as alleged adults, can finally work together. Enuff of my 'soap box'...
