This is just stupid.  Rachael Ray's ad dumped because of scarf A Dunkin' Donuts commercial featuring TV chef Rachael Ray has been ditched after critics accused her of dressing like a terrorist in the ad. (Click here to view photo.) Ray, who was announced as the company's new spokeswoman last year, appears in the commercial wearing a black-and-white scarf, alleged to be symbolic of a keffiyeh, a traditional headdress worn by Arab men. Fox news columnist Michelle Malkin explains the garment " ...has come to symbolize murderous Palestinian jihad. Popularized by Yasser Arafat and a regular adornment of Muslim terrorists appearing in beheading and hostage-taking videos. "The apparel has been mainstreamed by both ignorant and not-so-ignorant fashion designers, celebrities, and left-wing icons." Dunkin' Donuts bosses first dismissed complaints, claiming Ray's black-and-white wrap was merely misinterpreted, but an ensuing firestorm forced them to quickly pull the ad from rotation. A statement from company executives reads, "In a recent online ad, Rachael Ray is wearing a black-and-white silk scarf with a paisley design. It was selected by her stylist for the advertising shoot. "Absolutely no symbolism was intended. More likely she is wearing the scarf because it compliments her outfit. She's not voiced her political opinion has she? All I know of her is that she has a cooking show. I'm truly suprised that Bill O'Liely wasn't on this before the Malkin shill. He must be slipping.  Made the "Worst Person" too. World's Worst Maybe Rachel should invite Malkin on her show, bake a pie, and then smash her in the face with it.  | |||

I guess all those US Special Forces soldiers and SEALs that wear shemaghs while in country must also be terrorists, right? According the Malkin, these soldiers must be "ignorant" or "left-wing icons". Here are some pics of US troops wearing shemaghs/keffiyehs. We've all seen plenty of them.       | |||

Not to mention, of course, that the checkered scarf was a symbol of Yassar Arafat's Palestine Liberation Organization, a genuine terrorist group, from which sprang Fatah, who are now our "buddies" in Palestine. If Rachel is supporting terrorism by wearing that scarf, what is the administration doing by supporting Fatah? | |||

I was about to point out that shemaghs have been beloved of British soldiers in sandy areas since long before the PLO was a gleam in Nasty Marrafat's piggy little eyes, so much so that they're practically issue in Iraq and Afghanistan, but you sort of beat me to it. Is the fragrant Ms Malkin going to accuse the likes of General Sir Peter de la Billiere or Cornet Harry Wales of being lefties?
