Welcome to USASpending.gov - Where Americans Can See Where Their Money Goes
Have you ever wanted to find more information on government spending? Have you ever wondered where federal contracting dollars and grant awards go? Or perhaps you would just like to know, as a citizen, what the government is really doing with your money. The Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 (Transparency Act) requires a single searchable website, accessible by the public for free that includes for each Federal award: 1. The name of the entity receiving the award; 2. The amount of the award; 3. Information on the award including transaction type, funding agency, etc; 4. The location of the entity receiving the award; 5. A unique identifier of the entity receiving the award. Welcome to www.USAspending.gov, a relaunch of www.FederalSpending.gov, that provides citizens with easy access to government contract, grant and other award data. To begin searching, select either the Assistance or Contracts tab at the top left side of this page. You can easily switch back and forth as you search. The table below provides a summary of the federal spending information available on USASpending.gov. For an overview of the data available on this website, please see the Data Quality tab at the top of this page. Contracts and Other Spending in Billions of Dollars Tables don't copy well but go see for yourself. How? The president doesn't make the laws that provide for these grants; congress does. And those representatives are sent to Washington by "the people" in order to get as much of that money as they can sent back to their districts. So, whose fault is this really? |

The taxpayers, if you don't pay taxes they don't get to spend your money. The illegal aliens are laughing all the way to the bank. The welfare reciepients are laughing all the way to the stores to spend your money. The tax sheltered rich are laughing all the way to their estates. |

This basic truth has always been a scream for me.....no matter who is in office, the "loyal opposition" goes into their hysterical diatribe about how the Prez is wasting money, etcet. "Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference. The Marines dont have that problem." Pres. Reagan, 1985. |
