I say we put a tray on the back of a puppy and send our Muslim neighbors a peace offering in the form of BLT sandwiches. Maybe if they would eat one of those, they would see what they have been missing and stop being so pissed off all the time.

Edit: after reading both articles, and considering their sources, this seems to be much ado about nothing. There's nothing to indicate outrage, anger, or anything more than mild annoyance and offense, when you read the actual quotes. It looks like these newspapers would rather insert suggestive adjectives than look for an actual story. Either way, this isn't worth interrupting sweet-tea and nap time.

How anyone could find that ad offensive is beyond me. They're just itching to find things to offend them. Well, if it's so offensive,they could take themselves right back from whence they came.BTW-how would their country of origin react to their criticism of a government ad???? it is interesting that europeans felt almost the same about cats. to this day our irrational fear of black cats is funny.

on the other hand, it seems to me that there are two dynamics at work here

1. the "hate muslims" dynamic the press is pushing... "they are just stupid rag-heads and they want to destroy us"

and 2. the never ending feeling that we have to walk on egg shells around muslims.we are so scared to "hurt their feelings" that we bend over as far back as we can, and kiss our own behinds.

The "Daily Mail" has a long track record of taking minor stories and escalting them into "nationwide outrage" issues - and they are just slightly more right wing than Attila the Hun.

Probably one convenience store (known as Paki corner shops here)owner has had one customer complain, taken it further and it has become a "furour" in the paper's standard over dramatic
prose.

The "Daily Mail" is'nt even a Scottish newspaper * - notice the anonymous reporter - he probably has'nt even been to Tayside on this, or could find the city of Dundee on a map.

I would'nt be surprised if he picked up second hand on a story run by the local press days before.

* Unlike the "Scotsman" (Edinburgh) or "Herald" (Glasgow) which are objective and balanced.
