All that stupid whining such as this accomplishes is to fuel resentment against Muslims.
Muslims in the Scottish district of Tayside are outraged by the appearance of a wide-eyed, 6-week-old puppy on postcards distributed by the local police force, according to the Daily Mail.

I say we put a tray on the back of a puppy and send our Muslim neighbors a peace offering in the form of BLT sandwiches. Maybe if they would eat one of those, they would see what they have been missing and stop being so pissed off all the time.

This is a bit rich, coming from you folk- I've seen more bunched knickers on these boards than a laundromat sees in a year. Just pour yourself a cold one of your choice, as it's too danged hot to get this overheated.
Edit: after reading both articles, and considering their sources, this seems to be much ado about nothing. There's nothing to indicate outrage, anger, or anything more than mild annoyance and offense, when you read the actual quotes. It looks like these newspapers would rather insert suggestive adjectives than look for an actual story. Either way, this isn't worth interrupting sweet-tea and nap time. |

The legal issues in Islam with dogs start with some Prophetic traditions regarding cleanliness, especially around dogs that may carry rabies, but from there, it's a train wreck of ignorance, cultural clashes, and broken legal traditions. Dr. Khaled Abou el Fadl has an excellent article here:
