I hope an amendment is made. If those who suffer from PTSD can't own a firearm, what about adults who grew up in a traumatic atmosphere, or mugging/rape victims? In an essence all have been through a traumatic experience that has changed them. If someoene with PTSD is showing homicidal tendencies, by all mean they shouldn't own a gun, but telling a Vet who has fought for this country he's not suitable to own a gun is a slap in the face!

I started a thread earlier about it myself Price. It's about 3/4 the way down the list.

It's pretty bad news for veterans if this thing passes.

It is not titled "Veterans Disarmament Bill". It is called the "NICS Improvement Act".

It does not mention veterans at all, nor PTSD. It does not allow those classified as "adjudicated as a mental defective" to have guns.

????

If I was a Congressman, I could.

What are you talking about? It is a congressional bill, not a thread on P/CP.

I think she means combine this thread with comingofage's early thread on the same topic.

Agreed. Very insulting to all vets with or without PTSD. Sad thing is that there are people in the service who would agree with such a thing. I did read the bill today at the Library of Congress web site. While it does not openly say vets with PTSD, it is very vague and you can see where it could be a possibility.
