Remember me? Do you know my name?

He had few roles other than as villains in 45 years in movies and TV.
According to a friend, made more money on the golf course than he did in movies.

Well, his name eludes me, but people with gray hair know him. And in Hadleyville, Marshall Will Kane's wife, got him through the window a little past noon. Oh. . . what is his name?

That's Robert Wilke. If there was a western themed film or television show, he was probably in it. His IMDB page shows nearly 300 credits as an actor.

I was stuck for the name at first too and was about to randomly search The Magnificent Seven's actor list, until I saw Frankhouser's mention of Hadleyville; I realized that Wilke was in High Noon - it was a simple search from there. Had I searched The Magnificent Seven, I would have found Wilke there as well: he played "Wallace" in that film.

Ok, here's another one from the same movie, "High Noon."

Do you remember me? Do you know MY name? What else did I do besides act in cowboy movies and TV series?

Better yet, do you know the name of my "alter ego" and what he's famous for?

That's Sheb Wooley, he performed Purple People Eater and also got some other country hits; he wrote the theme song for Hee Haw and was a regular on Hee Haw as Ben Colder, and I assume you mean Ben Colder is famous for "Don't Go Near the Eskimos".

Boy, you're good! VERY good!

You're correct. That's Sheb Wooley/Ben Colder.

Here's the Ben Colder hit I most remember. It's a take off on the mega-hit "Almost Persuaded."
