It's interesting that even in spite of the significant progress being made in Iraq, the democrats want to withhold the supplemental until President Bush "changes the course." Why change the course when we are winning? The democrats are so vested in defeat, they want to include language in the supplemental that would target a complete withdrawal (surrender and retreat) from Iraq in nine months.

This is just another treasonous attempt to ensure our defeat before the '08 election, so they can blame the defeat on the Bush White House.

quote:
Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich.) is working with a key appropriator on a strategy to halve the White House’s war-funding request to pressure President Bush into changing course in Iraq.

quote:
“To be defeated rather than succeed — I think that would be a terrible idea,” said Sen. Mel Martinez (R-Fla.).

You don't think succeeding rather than defeat is good advice? I guess when you're so entrenched in our defeat, the defeatocrat status-quo is the only way to go.

Damnocrapic (and undeniably Soros-funded MoveBowels.org, Daily Kos, looney leftist) non-strategy:

1. Mock the military and every honorable person associated with the war that keeps the islamonazis at bay.

2. Ignore clear improvements in the situation, and hope for a renewed, increased amount of bloodshed. Success for America is anathema to true Damnocraps. When a man earns a Medal of Honor, instead of emphasizing the nobility of the sacrifice he and others like him have made, give the story minimal coverage, if any.

3. The well-being of America now and well into the future is secondary to the more immediate goal of duping those in the electorate who are poorly educated and unaware, so that they will be willing to support the power-ueber alles policies of die Damnocrapische Partei Amerikas.

4. In general, continue to mock the values that enabled this nation to progress to where it is and accomplish what it has. Be especially critical of anything associated with Christianity, never mind that that religion, in particular, has done more to reinforce the underlying ideals of respect for individual dignity and freedom than any other entity. Atheism: the religion of many loons and the opium of the immoral.

I'm sure there are several solutions to the war in Iraq, but defunding the troops is not one of the solutions, especially when we are succeeding.

When you try to rein a horse, you don't grab the tail. The purse strings is how it works. They can only threaten ...believe me it is a war of words only. The soldiers will get what they need. Still the first supplemental has already been signed into law, the second should not be needed until the end of the FY. If it is needed before that, the bean counters at the Pentagon should be fired.

There is no need for a college degree to see that two plus two equals four. The man can still have a grasp of the obvious without being the, as you put it, "go to guy". After all, you have "go to guys" for war posturing on the other side - all that experience, such as Bill Cli... wait, no, he can't be...maybe Nancy Pe...no, I don't see her either...maybe Barbar...no joy there, either. Well, hell, Dave, can you come up with a person on the dems side with all knowledge of military operations (someone who has not been indictable. Let's keep it real. Someone with integrity.)? I am sure drawing a blank.

Yes indeed they are Master Gunny. They have a BIG problem. What will they have to say on the first Tue in Nov 2008 if things look big time improved in Iraq. If our Soliders & Marines "win" in Iraq the Demos can't win the Prez spot and may well lose the House & Senate.

They are in BIG trouble!

Are you talking about live bait, as opposed to lure bait? Maybe even how to handle bait, or hooking a live bait? Maybe it's bait presentation you're referring to? Oh, oh, I know, I know...it balloons and bobbers...or maybe anchoring! You have made several references to San Francisco you know...you could be one of them there "master" baiters... Big Grin

When the "horse" is winning the race, you don't pull back on the reins... now to back to reality. The Dems are trying the same garbage they did with the "partial funding" passed in September by trying to tie up funds for the troops unless the President agrees to their 'cut and run' white flag time table.
You do understand what the phrase "partial funding" means, right? They only passed so much money for so long, that's why the issue is coming up again.
The only way the Democrats can ensure our military defeat in Iraq and Afghanistan is to cut the funding for the troops. Their greatest fears are coming true with the surge working and things starting to go well in Iraq... despite what the media replays or the limp wristed, whining, appeasement apologist Democrats would have sheople in America think... they are counting on what V.I. Lenin use to call 'useful idiots' to parrot their bilge...

Obviously your knowledge of horse racing and strategy are similarly thin... when its working you don't screw with it. The surge is working, don't handcuff the troops by not giving them the fund necessary for the equipment / ammo / supplies necessary to finish the job.
And if he is your "go to guy" you should be supporting his effort to get the funding needed for the troops instead of applauding the cut and run Democrats trying to tie up that money based on a white flag time table forcing another military victory into a political defeat.

Quite frankly Scarlett I don't care that I'm not your "go to guy", the feelings are quite mutual.

Now that is really funny Mom. The defense budget has money in it, the first supplemental has lots of money in it. Now the FY is only three weeks old with another fifty one weeks to go. You think the soldiers are going without because the second supplemental has not been finished?
