WASHINGTON – Federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald famously declared in the Valerie Plame affair that "there is a cloud over the vice president." Last week's release of an FBI interview summary of Dick Cheney's answers in the criminal investigation underscores why Fitzgerald felt that way.

On 72 occasions, according to the 28-page FBI summary, Cheney equivocated to the FBI during his lengthy May 2004 interview, saying he could not be certain in his answers to questions about matters large and small in the Plame controversy.

I'd say there's something in the White House water supply, but I suspect that line's learned long before taking up residence on Pennsylvania Ave.

Now go a-way or I shall taunt you a second time!

If they weren't all so power hungry, they could have contracted it out in a black op for plausable deniability.

Todays politics remind me of an old saying. - "Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas?" - Joseph Stalin

This is an interesting idea. I doubt seriously that either Mr. Cheney or Mr. Clinton would agree that they are made of the same meddle. Policians are often strange bedfellows; and I doubt that either one of them would be willing to be called forth as the same.

At least not in public. But I bet they'd smoke cigars with one another in private if they knew it wouldn't be leaked to the press.

It's pretty well known that Orrin Hatch and Ted Kennedy were good friends, and it's a truth of my business in contracting that competitors don't have to be personal enemies.

There are many strange alliances in politics. Don't worry about the names of the people. I am sure that in the backrooms of Washington there are many cases of friendships which are not always public.

It is important to seek out those which are of greatest interest to others.

Thanks for your posts.
