Hey, I have a question for current day BTDTs. FOBBITS rather than REMFS where possible (Airborneinfantry, I'm hoping to hear from you!)

Smile

How many vegetarians did you encounter on the front lines? Like, does the Army/Marine Corp even make vegetarian MREs? Wink

The reason I ask, is that I find most male vegetarians to be, well, kinda wusses, ya know?

So I was wondering, how could you 'test' this view? Easy - do a quick survey of some of the hardest guys around - the dudes right at the sharp end.

So, guys - did you come across many salad munchers during your tours? Are they well represented up front, are they mostly in back, or not in the armed forces at all?

Cheers!

What a topic and strange description of people eating habits. After reading your stastement and checking your profle I checked Yahoo to see what is on the 'net about veggie eaters. This is strictly a copy and paste:
Quote the Yahoo "Either way, this list of famous vegetarian athletes should get you off to a (forgive me) running start."

Vegetarian athletes
Ruth Heidrich, Three-Time Ironman

Jim Kaat, Baseball Player
Tony Larussa, Baseball Manager
Hank Aaron, Baseball Player
Bill Pearl, Bodybuilder
Marv Levey, Buffalo Bills Coach
Robert Parnish, Center (Bulls)
Joe Namath, Football Player
Lawrence Phillips, Football Player (49ers)
Steve Bellamy, Founder of the Tennis Channel
Surya Bonaly, French Figure Skater
Brendan Brazier, Ironman Triathlete
Sally Eastall, Marathon Runner
Andreas Cahling, Mr. International Bodybuilder
Carl Lewis, Olympic Track Star
Edwin Moses, Olympic Champion
Leroy Burrell, Olympic Champion
Murray Rose, Olympic Swimmer
Pat Reeves, Power Lifter
Bill Manetti, Powerlifting Champion
Ed Templeton, Pro Skateboarder
Mike Manzoori, Pro Skateboarder
Brian Anderson, Pro Skateboarder
Jamie Thomas, Pro Skateboarder
Forest Kirby, Pro Skateboarder
Brian Sumner, Pro Skateboarder
Andrew Reynolds, Pro Skateboarder
Jen O'brien, Pro Skateboarder
Matt Field, Pro Skateboarder
Chris Lambert, Pro Skateboarder
Brad Staba, Pro Skateboarder
Geoff Rowley, Pro Skateboarder
Rick Mc Crank, Pro Skateboarder
Moses Itkonen, Pro Skateboarder
Sergei Trudnowski, Pro Skateboarder

Yep, it's an odd topic. But hey, why the heck not? Smile

And sure, I wouldn't call any of those guys wusses. But I haven't met any of those guys Smile

Anyway, back to the soldiers...

Can anyone give me a front line observation?

Thanks!
