OK all you PinHeads out there. What do you all think? Will it work? I say we give it a try.
DIVORCE AGREEMENT THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY WELL PUT AND I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT'S BY A YOUNG PERSON, A STUDENT!!! WHATEVER HE RUNS FOR, I'LL VOTE FOR HIM. American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al: We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way. Here is a model separation agreement: Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes. We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them.. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell (You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them). We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens. We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood .. You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security. We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill. We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find. You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right. We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World. We'll practice trickle down economics and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag. Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you answer which one of us will need whose help in 15 years. Sincerely, John J. Wall Law Student and an American P.S. Also, please take Ted Turner, Sean Penn, Martin Sheen, Barbara Streisand, & Jane Fonda with you. P. S. S. And we won't have to press 1 for English. |

It seems that the concept of "states rights" would accomplish much the same thing, only better because 50 disparate groups, ostensibly, could choose the structure of their society within each states borders. But, no, Big Brother won't allow citizens to decide how they will live. Seems we really did miss something somewhere along the way.

Poor poor bonesaw. You were a very good student in your "public" school weren't you? No critical thinking going on here. |

Maybe, Yooper, but lookie: he's annexed all of Canada - though being geographically isolated, I wonder how long Illinois can hold out! |

Having lived in Colorado a good number of years, I think it's a fair bet to keep most of the western states out of Jesusland. Keeping the South a firm member of the bible belt, is something you can always bank on. Yes Bone, do update your map to include a few more states that were traditionally red. If I'm not mistaken, I don't see a small group of Islands in the western pacific. That would be the state of Hawaii, 50th state of the Union, and birthplace to the 44th President of the United States. That one should be solidly BLUE........ This message has been edited. Oh... it's critical thinking you want about this horses#!t. Okay:
I can settle this whole argument on education alone. Conservatives hate those liberal scientist types (especially those evolutionist). Of course, evolution has led to many incredible advancements in medicine but that's no matter. The liberals will take all the scientist and educators, you can have your creationists. So, in 15 years you're not going to know how to protect yourself from disease with medicine anymore, or have the science skills to keep making guns, or SUVs or anything else for that matter. And that will pretty much be the end of the conservative dinosaur. Relegated to history by their own stubborn stupidity. They're sure to have an exhibit of you on display... or not - I mean, who would f*#$ing care? |

Bone, you need to quit 'batting a thousand.' I'm finding way to many things I'm agreeing with you here lately. This is another classic. I think you're spot on here once again, but I'm afraid the "Old Confederacy" as we know it, will be the last hold out. They "will keep" their creationists over the scientists and educators. I know you're pretty good here without taking sides of the political argument, but I heard one of the organizers of the 9/12 tea party march on Wash.DC, tell reporters that the country needs to go back to how things were in 1909. Imagine that, for America to regress instead of progress, and 100 years at that.......... No one starts a war--or rather, no one in his senses ought to do so--without first being clear in his mind what he intends to achieve by that war and how he intends to conduct it. Taft? Really? His single presidential term activities included trust-busting (anti business), strengthened the Interstate Commerce Commision (big government agency which regulate the railroads), threw more money towards improving the postal service, passed the 16th Amendment (which gave Congress the power to levy income taxes without apportioning it amon the states or basing it on the Census) and he used a system of foreign policy known as "Dollar Diplomacy" which guaranteed "warlike" amounts in loans to Latin American and East Asia. Taft considered himself a "progressive" because of his deep belief in "The Law" as the scientific device that should be used by judges to solve society's problems. Apparently, the person who said it had not done their research on who was in power 100 years ago before running off at the mouth. |

I believe the guy was making a "generalized statement" by going backwards 100 yrs, was talking about America as a whole back then. We all have ideas/impressions how the country may have been in 1909, or about the turn of the century. It seems that there are "certain people" who have these impressions of a safe and secure America back in the 'good ole days' if you will, and since they were such "good times" then we need to go back to that era. It's kind of like saying, "damn I miss the good ole days!" "And, I want them back!" No specifics were mentioned as you have brought up under the Taft era. This has prompted me to try and find his direct quote. I don't remember his name, but I'll try to do a follow up. I think the guy was just having a "feel good moment." You know, that old crutch about things being so horrible today, that seeking the past becomes the only recourse to our problems. No one starts a war--or rather, no one in his senses ought to do so--without first being clear in his mind what he intends to achieve by that war and how he intends to conduct it. I didn't think you could be this ignorant but I have been proven wrong. I wonder if you could take it further than this but I suspect you would turn into a very steamy pile of who knows what if you tried so for the sake of your neighbors...don't. |

Yeah...and I heard a Pres Obama supporter say "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSEaHyzbqTA Do try and be more generalizing "Look at me ...my tenured professor gave me an A+ for my cardboard input that I stole from a wanna be comedian on TV…course he gave everyone else an A+ too…except for that idiot who believes in God." |

Do try to be more condescending and ridiculing. Oops, never mind - I see that criteria has already been met and met and........... I'm sure it is (in your mind)... especially since you seem to be the only one on this thread who completely missed the point - even Duster didn't come back to try and refute the claim that the premise of this thread was horses#!t to begin with... but here you are, wading in as though this is a genuine topic of interest or that my posts here should have been taken seriously. You aren't even remotely aware that you somehow just accomplished making my point when I had none to begin with, are you?... That's like... "superhero" level fatuity. Amazing... I tip my hat to you, sir. |

IMHO I have a better idea from my previous post that is related. So we have three choices as a people in this nation: Evolve to Anarchy (tribal), some other oppressive system, or return to our roots and continue with the best system from opression. With the caveat that there is no perfect system due to man's greed. We can only do our best, be our best with a humane and just nation as our Founders created. So here is the warning from so long ago...as we slept in our beds to tired to watch for TODAY! Adams, John An Essay on Man's Lust for Power August 29, 1763 Topic: Democracy [D]emocracy will soon degenerate into an anarchy, such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes and no man's life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure, and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtues and intellectual abilities, all the powers of wealth, beauty, wit and science, to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the execrable cruelty of one or a very few. |
