C'mon, a litte wine, a little Vaseline, couple gallons of cooking oil, who knows where the day may lead? "HOW DARE YOU COME INTO MY HOUSE, YOU SON OF A B----!" Susan Buxton, 66, heard over her granddaughter's 911 call. Arlington, TX 9 Nov. 2005. Aired 10 Nov. 2005, WBAP 820, Mark Davis show. She ended up shooting him in the leg when he tried to take her gun. Good shtuff! |

I wonder how many teenagers will work in meat processing plants and picking vegetables for 5.15 an hour.
I seriously doubt there will be any change in illegal immigration for a long time. It's too convenient of a problem. No one wants to pay more for the food they pick, that's for sure. |

First my name isn't 69, although I do enjoy what you are inferring to with my wife. Second I NEVER said the title was get rid of all illegal immigrants. That was my response to the topic which is about illegal immigrants leaving a specific state of this country. No where in the topic did the subject of gays/lesbians get mentioned, until you posted your opinion. You are the one who doesn't have a clue. And my vacation was for all of 2 hours. Due entirely to a cut and paste mistake. And you know all about mistakes as evidenced by your continued ones in your postings. And the name of the thread is the ONLY thing you've gotten correct for quite some time. Of all escape mechanisms, Death is the most efficient. ~~ H.L. Mencken |

You can double the wages and it would only raise the price per head of lettuce a dime. The reason that they get paid crappy pay is because they accept it and those that are illegal can't do much about it. The price of oil effects the cost of per unit far more than the cost of labor. Besides, how can you live with yourself knowing that the person that picked your lettuce was oppressed and cheated. Know Your Enemy. Do not react to him. Make him react to you. |

Alert! Congress seeks increase in number of foreign workers! In spite of evidence that the U.S. is slipping into a recession, Congressional leaders of both parties are trying to increase the number of visas available for foreign workers. This will lead to fewer jobs and lower wages for America's own workers. Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) has repeatedly sought to raise the annual limit of H-2B (non-skilled seasonal worker) visas beyond its annual cap of 66,000. Her increase in foreign workers was included in the Senate's fiscal year 2008 spending bill but removed in conference with the House. HR 1843 is a similar stand-alone measure in the House. The U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform, chaired by the late Barbara Jordan, recommended the total elimination of the H-2B visa program: The Commission recommends the elimination of the admission of unskilled workers.... [I]t is not in the national interest to admit unskilled workers. There is no end to the appetite of big businesses and corporations for more foreign workers at lower wages. Let Congress know that America's unemployed workers come first. ACTION NEEDED Ask your Senators and Congressional Representative to reject this quest for more cheap labor Alert! Bill would eliminate automatic birthright citizenship for anchor babies! Ask your representative to support this bill http://www.congress.org/congressorg/webreturn/?url=/cap...rt/?alertid=10247066 http://www.congress.org/congressorg/webreturn/?url=/cap...rt/?alertid=10990886 http://www.congress.org/congressorg/webreturn/?url=/cap...rt/?alertid=10984991 http://www.congress.org/congressorg/webreturn/?url=/cap...rt/?alertid=10948601 This message has been edited. You are kidding, right? Just how many of your "immigrants" intend is to stay? If so, why do only one or two members of a family come. Why do they send billions of dollars back to their formaer countries. Because they are just going for a cruise on the gravy boat and will debark as soon as their situation allows. Now, if we start giving them social security benefits, then they will be here for the long haul, after all, that is truly free money to them. Wouldn't that be fantastic. Now you are complaining that only half the illegals are leaving on their own? Well, the labor laws will effect all illegals equally. So, the other half will be unemployed as well, more would leave than you think given time. The it is time for ICE to get busy. I think you just proved that we actually can get rid of the illegals, Thanks. OTMs are easy as well. Round them up and pack them in to their countries consulates. Eventually their own countries will ship them back. |

Few, because 5.15 isn't a livable wage. Now if there were a livable wage, some businesses would continue to thrive, and some would fail. The ones that fail would be replaced by businesses with a better plan and execution, in other words businesses that could both pay a livable wage AND thrive. And so, higher paying jobs are created and the quality of life goes up. In addition, one of the impediments to higher paying and higher quality jobs is higher taxes. Taxes, which go, in part, to pay for the care of illegals. Thusly, any production that an illegal could contribute is squandered because of the illegal's agreement to accept that kind of wage (as well as the employer's agreement to offer it). Having said that, I'm all for as much legal immigration as possible, as legal immigration allows for a more orderly integration into communities, and gives local economies time and room to adjust accordingly. |
