"88M, CAUSE EVERYONE ELSE IS CARGO."

Has anyone heard about this ceremony in Bagdad, with Gen Petraeus officiating? Over 1200 soldiers, sailors, airman and marines re-enlisted at one time at the Faw Palace on July 4, 2008. The only thing reported by the Main Stream Media - some 2000 pizzas delivered by a Chicago Pizzeria for eating on July 4th.

I haven't heard a word about this, but it's something to celebrate! And yes, the liberal MSM wouldn't dare share anything so positive. It doesn't go along with their hateful agenda.

Thanks for posting it!

Applause

The great part was in hearing that all of the services had met both thier retention and enlistment goals for the last quarter. I know the only reason it was on the radio is Ft. Wood is right behind the station doors.

How could this be??? Don't they know that it isn't safe over there? Why the television tells us all the time that we are taking heavy casualties, that we are losing the war and need to pull out, abandon our work, make all the countless lost lives for naught! These stupid people reenlisting in a war zone should know that we in CONUS know better than they what the conditions are over there.

From here, you can pick your argument rhetoric from the playbook of the left.

If the MSM like the one existing today in the US, existed during WWII, we would be speaking German. The US MSM can be depended on to perform to the highest standards of any 5th Column organization ever to grace the pages of history. The only thing they deem worthy of publication is detrimental to the country.

I hear you, brother. Reality poster!

In the same way we'd be speaking German, had Kerry been elected, I'd be in a burka.

Thanks transport1.

The problem with news people is not what news they tell you but what news they don't.

That was the problem with the old Pravda.

But in Provda's defense they had to bend to external forces while the MSM's is totally internal.

By the way, what Pizzeria do we owe thanks to?

If I'm getting it right, it was Lou Malnati's, and they dubbed (a father and son decided to do this, Malnati's discounted, very deeply, the Pizzas) a Taste of Chicago. They were packaged and delivered for July 4, 2008

I disagree. The people during WWII were pissed about everything. The MSM from here would be very short-lived. Imagine newsies hanging from trees on the lawns of the courthouses (in an ideal world, along with lawyers Big Grin ) across the nation. Most WWII service members didn't take shit from noone. I like that.

Gosh, you mean even Faux News missed this "story"? They must be too busy cheerleading in St. Paul.

I think it's great.

The more people who willfully reenlist, the fewer people they'll need to involuntarily Stop-Loss... In theory.

Either way, it's a good thing in general. Reenlistment certainly isn't for everyone, but for those who go for it, I say good for them.

Want to guess which Presidential candidate was there with no fanfare or media camera crews to thank the troops for their services and for re-enlisting??? I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count....
OK, you guessed it, it was the Veteran war hero, John McCain.

slurp, slurp....bfd. Were you there to thank them? Doubt it. I do applaud him for his actions, but at this point anything any politician does is suspect to me.

I'm with you on that! The reenlistment numbers have always been high, much to the dismay of the libs who throw bricks at cops at their so called "peace rallies."

To those who serve ... love ya!!! xoxo

Applause

I guess you missed the part about no fanfare no media entourage with McCain, huh?

DUH! Of course I couldn't be there! What an idiotic comment. As a BSM I'm here buying needed items, packing 'goodie' boxes, sending letters/'clean' jokes/humorous postcards, staffing the military room at the local airport welcoming them back home or making sandwiches for a free meal and being one of the last glimpses of 'home' they see before they deploy.

Here's some video. Pretty damn impressive.

Can you find John McCain. You can't? That's because he wasn't there. He was a guest speaker at the ceremony in 2007. Do you really think he would pass up a media coup like that?

If you've got evidence otherwise kick it. I couldn't find any.

Mom2APAJ, thank you. You are a wonderful person and you shouldn't have people like ccrosse dismiss your service to our troops out of hand.

Good on ye Mom. Just because you're a little confused about your politics doesn't mean you aren't good people. Be glad to buy you a pop, a brew, a shot, a coffee, a tea or all of the above any day.
