It seems several websites have flagged up Harry Wales's attachment to the Gurkhas in Afghanistan where they are actively engaging the Taliban - thereby making it more dangerous for him and the other soldiers.
UK and other International media had respected the MOD's wish not to divulge his deployment. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/20080228/tuk-uk-britain-a...n-harry-fa6b408.html The offending web staff deserve a swift hard kick to their goolies - or better still taken out to the front line where they can interview him if they are so keen on this story. Wankers. |

Well ScotsVisitor, if a newspaper can sell an extra 5,000 papers this evening then it is worth the lives lost, isn't it? I don't know what goes through a reporters mind. It damn sure isn't ethics. Just because you find a secret is not a reason to print a secret. Know Your Enemy. Do not react to him. Make him react to you. |

A brave young man Harry. Going in harms way when it would be soooooo very easy not to. In fact he had to demand he be assinged to combat. Sounds like good future King potential to me!

Yeah it sucks with a load of f's. From ITV it was the Drudge vermin that released the original piece. The British press kept a blanket on it. Somebody should pay them a 'visit' to leave a lasting impression. 'At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them.' -Laurence Binyon 1869-1943 |

Was it Drudge that broke the story? Figures. Closeted, gay-hating POS. |

It seems it was an Australian magazine that first carried the story. They all need their testicles sandwiched between two bricks. |

Dem were 'Sheila's' so it would have to be knockers! I'm sure that some pressure will be forcefully applied. 'At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them.' -Laurence Binyon 1869-1943 |

Probably from Prince Harry's viewpoint, what sucks most is that because of the vastly amplified risk now, he most likely won't be able to finish his scheduled 4-6 month rotation.
From what little I've read, he was enjoying being a regular lieutenant and being pretty much incognito. |

aaah, Princess Diana would be so proud of both of her sons. They've turned into fine young men.

Scots,
Do you know when the last time a member of the immediate Royal Family served in combat??? I am just curious. Someone told me it was during the Napoleonic Wars. I thought maybe Prince Charles might have popped in during the Falklands or Perhaps The King visited areas of Europe during WWII. Anyways, I thought that was awesome that he did this. Imagine: (although I know the monarchy is not the government)some of our morons in congress picking up an IBA and an M4??? Hell, our hollywood loons think they are royalty. George Clooney as a rifle company commander. (i'd shoot myself) When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains, and the women come out to cut up what remains, jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains and go to your gawd like a soldier. -Rudyard Kipling |

Prince Harry has shown himself to be a man of fortitude, but it's time to get him out of there, can't take a chance on his capture.

I have emailed Mr. Drudge and expressed my EXTREME displeasure that they blasted this all over the internet. I invite others to do the same.
I might also add that I don't normally use foul language, but it just seemed like the right thing to do in this case. All this young man wanted to do was to serve his country and lead his men. DRUDGE, YOU ARE A LILY-LIVERED, YELLOW-BELLIED, COWARDLY, SLIMEBALL, PIECE OF CRAP. . . |

I can think of better things to do. How about making them an example and charging them with some kind of opsec violations or something? Maybe endangerment of troops? Surely something would stick, and they could find their butts behind bars for a very long time........ That would send a very clear message to NYT and others who do this routinely. |

Cry me a river...So what, whats going to happen are his lads going to turn him in? Terrorists do not have satellite communication or drones or any real way of tracking this guy...He is just as safe today as he was tomorrow, which is to say not very...
Had they released a 10 digit grid on his location then yeah time to worry, but they didn't so the sky isn't going to fall. I wish we had leaders in Government like this guy, instead we got Mitt Romney sons who serve their country by working on daddy's campaign |

Prince Andrew was in the Falklands. Before him Prince Phillip served in WWII. Prince Charles spent 5 years in the Royal Navy, but cannot serve in a combat zone because he is heir apparent. All of the male Royals have served in the military. Her Majesty also served in the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service during WWII as a driver. The story first appeared last month in "New Idea"...an Australian women's magazine. Evidently someone has jumped on New Idea's broadcasting the story. All the story lines have been changed to just show Prince Harry's bio...link The original story shows 15 Jan 2008 and another 14 Feb 2008. This message has been edited. Last edited by: IzzyBizzy, |

Good on him. Sure as hell hope he's able to continue the fight with his fellow Soldiers despite the media's thirst for petty gossip.

Prince Andrew flew a chopper off HMS Illustrious during the Falklands - the Navy brass were not for sending him, however his mother "suggested" that it would be a "good idea" for a serving officer to go where his ship was sent - well it his her navy - or so it says on the label !!! Prince Michael of Kent was a major in an armoured regiment as a career officer - but was forced to "resign" when they were deployed to the six counties in the dismounted security role like all other units sent to Northern Ireland. It was tempting fate to let the IRA have the Queen's cousin as a potential target (they murdered Mountbatten) - however he was none too pleased at being "retired" forcibly. |

The British royal family has a long and stellar record of serving their country in uniform.
Too bad our "elite" political families don't feel the same. |

As predicted, the Prince is being withdrawn from A-stan. The MOD is asking the press to refrain from tracking his movements and route out until he's back in the UK. Stupid trolls - the press, not MOD. |
