Anyone have advice on if it is realy necessary to have a masters to get a good job upon retirement.
Depends upon what career field you are considering, and also what the competion for that position is likely to have. I earned my MBA in 2004 and it not only helped me get a job with Lockheed Martin, but it also helped me when that job was moved to an undesireable location and I needed to get back into the Civil Service. Out of the 30 or so jobs I applied for, more than half called me for interviews, and from those I received 6 job offers. My education had something to do with that I am sure.
