Im not sure if this has been previously addressed but how does PS differ from ME and once the ME rating has been established will PS be phased out or will a small number remain with a different mission.
The ME Performance Qualification Standards (PQS) include both Security quals and LE Quals, encompassing both jobs.
Current PSs might be working at a Marine Safety Unit (regulatory work or civil casualty investigations), a Station (enforcement), or a PSU/MSST (security).
Each PS billet will be looked at to determine how it might be converted.
MSTs at MSU/MSDs, BMs or MEs at Stations (or other ratings), and probably MEs at PSUs/MSSTs.
Anyway you slice it, PSs are riding off into the sunset...
