I am hearing that the Reserve billet map for the ME's is getting a little complicated. The PS billets will all convert (not the members) but the discussion is what to do with the PS to ME billets at MSU's and MSO's.
Bush; There's not much complexity to it. Out of the roughly 1200 PS's, analysis indicated approximately 900 would submit a lateral package. Others will request to lateral to MST, GM, IS, and BM. Analysis has predicted that approximately 1000 ME's will be needed across the board. If you already look at some job announcements, the CG is beginning to recruit for ME's on the Reserve side of the house in anticipation of shortfall. Not all PS billets will convert to ME billets. It's based on the analysis that occured after two surveys. As far as the MSO's go, you will have very few ME's, if any, at any of these units. Most of the ME's will be at Sectors, TACLETS, LEDETS, and PSU's. Of course, each cutter may have one or two, depending on the size, to run the ship's LE program. You will also have LE training teams consisting of ME billets. Just look at the MCPOCG's blog on the latest specifics. Bush; Received updated information from the PS-RFMC, MECM Allred. 1186 PS billets will convert to ME, so sounds like most of them. Thanks Hammer48, I will shoot you an email on Global. I am at an MSU now, just don't know what they will do with me as an ME Reservist. Hope there will be a shopping list or something!
