Excuse me, stewardess, I speak jibberish. What guns is saying is that he heard that some people who submitted packages and received confirmation e-mails are not on this "list" of applicants. He is worried that some people may not be able to lateral due to some kind of error.

Sorry about the jibberish.

I was in a rush.
I have not seen this list, nor could i find any message about it but I have heard about it.
It is apparently a confirmation of those who have submitted lateral packages. However when some people have looked at this message or list
they have noticed they are not on it but they have recieved a confirmation email from YN1 stating they have recieved thier package.

probably just good old scuttlebutt, Roll Eyes

probably just scuttlebutt.

Guns007, This is probably the list of reserve applications, which can be found on the RPM wbbsite, that you are hearing about. I can see how the title "ME Lateral Packages Received" could be misleading, but it is found on the Reserve Personnel Management Division page. Never fear, it is for Reservists only. If you are a Reservist, go to the RPM page. (google USCG RPM, links not allowed) Right at the top it says "ME Lateral Packages Received" in bold letters.

Here is a posting I found on the CG Allhands blogspot from the MCPOCG.

"The final ME numbers aren’t quite counted yet but it looks like we have right at 1457 active duty applications for the rating. Great job by everyone who had a hand in this! As we knew from the creation of the IS rating, getting a specialty started is extremely challenging… in this case it is even more so due to the large size of the rating.

We have some challenges ahead… For instance, as we move into the actual lateral process we need to balance the needs of the new rating while working to mitigate impact on feeder ratings. The potential for adverse effects on individual units (too many members selected at any one command) is a concern that I had early on, but that will be mitigated by the present plan to graduate the transfers over several assignment years.

The goal is to create a rating that on day one is as capable, professional, and diverse as possible. Having a large applicant pool that exceeds our need is a great help. I want to personally thank all the members of the ME implementation team including former Master Chief of the Reserve Force George Ingraham, who just re-retired after 2 years of dedicated service putting this together. We would not be where we are at without his work.

And thanks to all our personnel who applied. When you think about it… having over 1200 volunteer applicants is amazing. Without any real incentives we asked over a 1000 personnel to move beyond their comfort zone (current rating) and volunteer for something that because it does not yet exist still holds unknowns for the individuals who applied.

Thank you,
MCPOCG Bowen"

There is nothing you can do now. Your package has already been submitted and the deadline has passed. EOE is not a disqualifying issue, it will just be considered when the board examines all of the packages.

Hopefully you also submitted a career intentions worksheet, showing you plan to re-enlist.

The "package" was not supposed to include any extra paperwork.
