Has anyone done sar such as Explorer Search and Rescue? It is run by the DEM. I do it here in Washington and was just wonder if anyone else did it as well

A CG Auxiliary unit near where I am often works with a local Explorer SAR post on special events and on training every now and again.

I have in in local SAR here in Kittitas county, WA for about 2 1/2 years.

I did Tacoma Mountain Rescue while stationed in Sitka in the late 70's with another ASM,AD, and a Cook. We did it just to learn some climbing techniques and get some gear upgrades.This was back in the day of triple braided goldline climping robes. We were never called on to search for anyone outside of our CGAC duties. We were founding members of the chapter in Sitka. I recently tried to get in touch with the oirganization and they ignored my e-mail? Thats gratitude for ya!
I've done a lot of hunting in the nearby swamps around my house and have volunteered to go in and look for folks/kids if the need be. I also remove nesting snappers out of gardens and move them out of roads for my neighbors as well as bats out of attics, just for fun with a tennis racket and a baseball glove.
