I joined the Navy a couple weeks ago as a Cryptologic Technician Technical (CTT). I go to bootcamp on the 27th.

Has anyone ever worked with Navy CTT's in Iraq? If so what do they do and how often is the CTT rate sent to Iraq? Is it common or what? I'm just looking for more info.

My husband is an information warfare officer (formerly called cryptologic officer), and he is in Iraq. There have definitely been enlisted sailors mobilized from his reserve unit. I'm afraid I don't know their specific ratings, but, my guess is that it is farely common.

Unfortunately I've never really understood what my husband does in the Navy, so I can't answer your question on what they are doing. Smile

He actually was at the Norfolk NIOC (though I think they renamed it a few years ago), but it was disbanded as of November 2008, so he currently has no true home command. When he gets back he will drill at NSA. Or so he promises me :-)

His last active duty command was at NSA.
