I'm getting ready to report for my 400 day IA mission to Kuwait on March 13th. I've heard that for orders a year or longer you get R & R leave at some point during your tour. My orders are for 400 days, but only 270 of them are bog days. So my question is, are the R & R conditions for those who spend a year in theater? Or for those orders that exceed a year?

12 months BOG gets 15 days of EML (enviromental moral leave) 15 months BOG gets 18 days-less than 12 months is at the commanders discresion-i believe the time frame is 10 days-but my experience is with NG units and not IAs so that might not be good information.

That's correct, I'm on an IA right now and our total BOG is 210 (total time is 240+), if it's less than a 12 month tour you are eligible for a four day pass to Qatar (four days there not including travel). Some of our guys went and have enjoyed their time there.

uhh what happens when you are DEPLOYED to Qatar?! Cool that's where DH is/will be. doesn't seem like much of a 4 day pass if he won't get to go any where heheheheh...

not that it matters we had no plans to hook up anyway..although I have a cousin in Germany, might have been fun to try and Hop there.....
