I have been looking for an instruction that provides the list of incentives for completing an IA.

I can find one for 01 - 03 but none for enlisted. If someone can post a link or the instruction number that would be great.

Thanks

There's nothing for enlisted that I'm aware of. It's just a person who's pulled out of their regular unit and placed in another for the duration of a deployment. You don't get any extra pay or promotion points or anything like that.

BAW.. Navy IAs do get promotion points and depending on IA assignment choice of duty station afterward. but they must be volunteers, not voluntolds....

But then again a large percentage of our IAs might as well be called One year Unaccompanied orders now..as we are sending people in between regular duty stations...

So I volunteered, I was told (I can't find anything in writing) that I would have preferential duty stations. There within lyes the problem, promises made but I can't back it up.

My DH is on a Navy IA/GSA tour right now...

When he was up for orders (he will not be returning to a previous Command) he was able to make his choice as to where we wanted to go next from what was open.

We put in for Sicily and got it right off the bat, orders in hand and all. We had been trying to get orders to Europe for years with no success; until now.

He said typically, when you are up for orders (after your tour at your parent Command) you will get to choose the Coast you want. If there are other areas you want and you are quaified for the billets, be sure to let your detailer know.
