Hey all.. I am an Army brat and proud supporter of the U.S. military. My father was a W4 in the Army, flying helicopters in Vietnam. I have a cousin who was a SEAL. My two brothers in law were Air Force, Army, and Marines. I also had several uncles who served in various services, and my sister was a nurse in the Army for a short time. I am also in Navy dep. shipping out to boot in November.
I just wanted to say to all the people serving now and who have served and those who have given their lives in support of this country that I am proud of every one of you for whatever the reason you now serve or have served in the past, and the fact that so many of you go to war and continue to go back knowing the risks.
Even though the media would have us believe that the country doesn't support the war and military, it is my opinion that the vast majority of people in this country do support and are proud of the men and women in all the services, and I am proud for the opportunity to hopefully count myself among them as a Navy sailor.
I haven't personally seen war and would never claim to have a clue what it is like. I only hope that if I find myself there I will the courage to do my duty and be worthy of standing next to those who have gone before me.
