WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, N.M. — White Sands Missile Range has a new commander.
Col. John Regan took command Monday, replacing Brig. Gen. David L. Mann, who is now commanding the 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas.
Regan says he plans to be at White Sands for a while.
His predecessors, Mann and Brig. Gen. Richard L. McCabe, each headed the range for less than a year.
The commander of the Army’s Test and Evaluation Command, which oversees much of White Sands’ mission, says that although Mann and McCabe’s tenure was short, their leadership was invaluable.
Maj. Gen. Roger Nadeau also says White Sands and Fort Bliss have been the center of the Army’s transformation in recent years.
