Hello, my name is Tim and I ship off August 15. My rate is CE. I have a couple of questions. First, what else besides the obvious will I learn from being a CE that will be useful in the civilian world?

Tim, rule number one here is if you want to talk politics head over to Point/Counterpoint.

USS Liberty, Never Forget.

I believe in Murrays Law, he thought Murphy was an optimist.

WELCOME ABOARD, SEABEE.

EVERYTHING you learn as a CE in the 'Bees and the Navy itself, will help you in your civilian after life.

I went in in 1966 as a smart-a**, punk kid who knew everything, got knock on that smart-a** a couple times, grew-up, became a Military Training Instructor and went on to study Architecture after my discharge...I was an EO.

I DO NOT regret one single second of my tour with the Seabees and still have contact with most of them today.

ENJOY YOUR TOUR. ONCE A SEABEE...ALWAYS A SEABEE!!!

Unlikely that you will be the only female there.

Making friends and getting along with the gents is actually pretty easy. The formula is:

nice + polite + hardworking - naive = successful.

Best of luck! Prepare for some dirty & tough work ahead.

The Bee's are a small community, more of a family, we take care of our own. Don't worry a bit.
