Hopefully, my questions can be asked, so here goes! If not, its ok.

Are there any current CM reservists now?
If so, what is your typical drilling weekend consist of?
Also, is there anything you can say about deployments?

Thanks!

Yes there are CM reservists. Every drill weekend the Alfa dogs were the first in and last out. Dispatch had to get vehicles ready for whatever training evolution was planned and the CM's had to sign off on the gear before that.

As an EO I mostly saw the CM's perform PMs and minor repair work. What took more time was turned over to the active duty CM who was posted in the BN. Of course the higher up you are the more paper you play with.

Hope that helps.

Great information. Thanks!

One other question, do you get to do any pt-ing, or do any class room studying, or only what your rating is?

I should have qualifed my earlier statement. What I described earlier was a typical drill weekend at the BN headquarters.

If you drill at a det it is a different world. That is rather hit or miss. There are dets with no CESE or project schedules. There you will get a lot of clASS time. If possible find a way to drill at your BN headquarters. That is where the best training is.

Depending on what program you are in you can also start working on your SCWS pin. It is a ginormous amount of paper work and learning. There is a library of course work and that goes on in addition to your other training. You will need to go on a FEX and get a lot of stuff signed off there. Remember to get things signed off as you go. It is both time and labor intensive enough as it exists. It is only worse if you have to do a backfill. However, the sooner you get the bug the easier it is.

What BN are you with? Have you been to the sandbox?

I'm not in any BN yet. I'm still DEP'd, so just getting some information when I do go.

Thanks!
