I know this sounds odd, but I just arrived here in wichita falls for CE A school. Well apparently this female Seabee is being pulled out or cross trained or something to get sniper training. Ever heard of this? If there is this oppertunity for seabees, are there any others? How do you get involved for oppertunities like this?

I heard about the guardian angel program when we were being Mobed in 05 but none of our seabees were picked for it. It is hard to believe that a female is being trained for sniper. Based on no women in combat.

I haeard about the gaurdian angel program back in o5 it was brought up breifly in o6 while I NMCB26 was doing its fex .Nobody went trough it since most of the AirDet was in Kwuait for their deployment .Not sure what is happening with the second det that was deployed.I agree with you Senior Chief on the female sniper part though sounds like scuttlebutt to me.

When we were getting ready to go in country in 05 we were told about the Guardian Angel program. In a nutshell it was snipers who would go out set up around a work site to protect the seabees working there. I never had any of our guys picked for it and I never heard of any being use. But we were told about it.

We never used it thru last week in country. They were not snipers but deignated marksmen. We were supposed to also use designated marksmen on the CSE teams. Again, one of your better shots, with a dose of maturity thrown in was assigned the position and an optic, in our case a Leupold.

No, It was my fault. If I had checked my spelling there would have been no misunderstanding. Besides that what I get for speaking French. LOL

Just overworked mate.
Schools, CCC development ESPECIALLY since I had a CRASH course because both of the senior CCC's got mobilized so I had to basically teach myself until I went to the CC school. We have gotten a bunch of NEW E-3 and below CN's that all need their bounses now, now, now!! I end up having to put them in their place at times. (Greedy little f#cks) LOL But glas to have some NEW youngblood in the Bee's for a change!
I welcome it!

Me and that CCC handbook were pretty close and had a few retirements to plan at the old Navy Base NTC Orlando (Now it's Bluejacket Park & and expensive homes called Baldwin Park.)

Just busy, SMI, Lead CCC, with new Federal job, college part time and Reserve responsiblities, so yeah, didn't feel like spending time on the computer much. LOL Well, because unfortantely for me, my collateral duties don't start and end on duty weekends. Did I mention I also do Funeral Duties part time? Yeah, been really busy Bill LOL Razz Whew!
