I was down at our Battalion RSS in Belton last week, to help with CPO initiation.(I sponsored a young lad). But, anyway, the selectees, set up a tour at the WWI museum, in KC. It apparently is the only WWI museum open to the public. It was one of the best put together museums I have been in. But, as we got towards the end of our tour, we ran into a group of WWII Seabees who were taking a tour. I mean these guys were in their 80's & 90's, and were the original Seabees. They were all over the Pacific theater, and it was awesome just hanging with them, for the 1/2 hour we did. We ended up, giving them our SCWs pins and singing the Seabee hymn. Those old guys still knew the words and sang right along with us. There must have been a lot of dust in the air, as there were alot of misty eyes. I just thought I'd share that with y'all.
