I just found out my son, a UT, will be gained by either PHIB 2 or CBMU 202, on the Reserve side of the house, for his upcoming 2 years of SELRES duty under his NCS contract. In either case, he'll drill at the NOSC in Raleigh, NC.
Anybody here in one of those outfits or know anybody in one of them?
yes i have. what exactly do you want to know. ACB-2 or phib2 as you called is in virginia. he wont deploy often his batallion mission is ship to shore.
199- He's with CBMU 202, so the Phib 2 thing didn't materialize. He's drilling with a 202 det down at Camp LeJeune. So far, so good. It's a big, big change from active duty and he's fairly surprised at how the Reserve side of the house works so far.

He is not the only one. The reserves are a whole other animal. The important thing is to know is that as a reservist you are the master of your own destiny.
