One time back on the Usta Fish.... (ok, it was the Will Rogers). During one R&R I didn't take leave. Those of us who didn't take leave mustered twice a week, and the junior ones, like me, stood duty. (We answered the phone from 8am to noon).
I had just finished my watch and was on my way home. I had just left the building when word came down there was a random urinalysis and my number was picked. They were unable to catch me, so they phoned my home and told my wife.
I get home, and my wife seems really excited. She says honey, guess what?
I ask her what she is so excied about.
She proceeds to tell me that the Off-Crew Office just called, and told her I won the Willy R Lottery. (Having already won an anchor pool on the boat, she figures I have won some cash). She goes on to say she just got off the phone with Sears, and our new washer and dryer will be delivered next week.
My jaw must have dropped to the floor. I first ask her if she is serious. She says yes, she got 2 floor models and received almost $100 off.
I proceed to tell her that we can't afford them, the Lottery isn't money, it is when I have to pee in a cup. This is when she busts out laughing, unable to keep a straight face any longer. She was so proud she finally pulled one over on me.
