Basic Training

Hi all, I was just wondering, as I'll be leaving for basic soon, about what is the most preferred option, in terms of sub class. I understand that one does not usually get to choose their sub or orders, but I was wondering if there was a general thought about it. I read that the Virginias are being produced two a year and that there are not that many out there. So would you guys, and girls, rather be on a newer class V., though I know they come with their own disadvantages, or say a Los Angeles?

P.S.: I was at my recruiter's office today and noticed one of them actually had his 'phins on . To be quaint, it was very impressive and inspiring to see.

-Thanks

Geez, "Boats," there is a slim chance that a "girl" in this forum might know something about boat classes, especially if hubby a submariner.

I agree with the above. I've learned quite a bit about subs (admitedly not first hand) from being married to a sub guy for 7 years and working with mostly submariners in NY for a few years.

OP read this (which happens to be only 2 posts down from yours) and please just continue the discussion there. If you want to be a submariner, you'll need to learn how to look things up on your own, that's how you get the knowledge required to qualify.
