sorry for bringing up an old post, but just curious no one mentions the DIVER rate? are they not apart of boats anymore???

While I'm posting, might as well ask though not sure if this crosses OPSEC, what ratings "hitch a ride" on fast attacks?? SEALs obviously but what about intel or crypto guys?? Information Warfare?? do they come on subs

Your right. Not good questions to ask here.

USS Liberty, Never Forget.

I believe in Murrays Law, he thought Murphy was an optimist.

Look it's REALLY simple

There's Nukes... and there's Cones. On Boomers there's the Empties (MTs) as well.

Veal? When does that come out of the freezer?

Back on the Usta Fish, MS1 loaded the food into the freezer, first the chicken, then the beef, then the pork.

On patrol, we ate the port, then the beef, then the chicken. Big Grin

I usually drink Port... but hey... I knew an MS that could screw ANYTHING up.

Veal is for half way night. Be quick it goes fast, which means the Nukes don't get any because the cones already ate it all.

VEAL on halfway night?

If the MS served only veal, we'd serve him to the TDU.

Prime Rib and Lobster tail....or death to the cook.

I learned NEVER to mess with the cook!

They have three things that make it a bad choice:

1. They make your food!

2. They know everything that happens on the boat, OPSEC or no.

3. They have the most storage of anybody on the boat, so if you want something special (I liked to pack my own mozz and pepp, sauce, etc for pizza night, and also venison and stuff) they are the only ones who can hook you up.

It's not easy to be a cook. Everyone expects you to cook like Mom. That's a lot to ask anyone.

I never had a problem with the cooks on the tridents. They were great guys, and I was more than willing to put on the cute little paper hat and help them cook. I didn't mind doing the dishes, either, if it was called for.

The cook on my fast boat, however, had two basic problems. He didn't know how to cook anything but pork, which can get boring on a west pac. And he always wondered why there was an entire crew to feed Saturday's lunch to...(does the phrase "Field Day" mean anything?)

I dreaded the day a certain cook made his signature Chili burgers.

They tasted like TDU weights and cayenne.

But his lumpia was so good... you forgave him.
