The Husband got his sea duty orders to the USS Alaska, can say I do love that his detailer did his best to get us back to Kings Bay even know he put Ken on a boat that technically isn't in Kings Bay yet LMAO Its here, but we still have to move to K bay, then fun fun Ken has to TAD back up here till the sub finally goes to GA *sigh* At least well be in GA again, I liked GA...close to FLA only takes 3 hours to drive down to visit my family vs the 11 hour drive we take living here! PS...Norfolk sucks
OK I'm going to bust the barnacles off my melon, and try to remember the name of the only bar that had dancing "hence babes" when we were one of the first boats (# 2 I think) to refit out of that new Jimmy Carter base. The Well is the name I come up with...Is it still there??? There were 2 other dives in the vicinity and I remember they had a nice bar at the Hotel in St Marys. From the Gate there was the security bldg., a trailer for a exchange and they did have a rec hall right around there too. It was kind of different because O gangers, Chiefs, and the humble enlisted pukes like me all drank in the same room. Then it was a loooong two lane black top through the forest, to the tender. There wasn't much else there except critters and skeeters, LOTS of Skeeters. LOL
