What's an SI?

Besides my big **** tr***, which you've seen Cheese, I just bought an older Honda CR-V to drive around on a day-to-day basis. MPG of 12/13 just wasn't cutting it...

The censorware's broken. It'll censor "offensive" letter combinations from anything. For example "cla s s" becomes cl***, att i tude becomes at***ude, and espous e m e nt becomes espou*****t. It's actually quite funny.

And I don't drive an Si, but I was considering it when I was shopping for a new car. I even test drove one, but the fact that it only took premium gas turned me off. In the end I got a Mazda3 hatch (the dashboard of which is my current avatar).

Ahhhh, right-o.

I ALMOST traded in my tr*** ('05, paid for, Dodge Ram 4x4 lifted 3" with lots of money invested so that I can get in and out and drive it!) for a new Subaru Outback. I LOVED the turbo, but it only drank premium, as well, which would have negated any mpg savings over my tr*** via the price at the pump. I was all set on the regular "Limited" version which was pretty frikkin' loaded, but once they got the car in we found out I wouldn't be able to get in and out of it once the hand controls were installed. Bummer.

So, I went and bought a cheap CR-V with cash money that gets literally over double the gas mileage that my tr*** gets, and it runs on the cheap stuff! Best part is that I get to keep the Pig in my driveway, as well! Big Grin

*EDIT* Alright, someone help out the slow kid... once again, what's an SI?

I did up until 2004 when my supercharged 99' Milano Red 2dr was swiped!!! I had almost 10 grand into it, I was running low 13's at the track.......went out to go to work one morning.......she was gone Confused

I even had a black one for my wife but we sold it to her cousin a few months later.....then it was swiped!!! WTF!!!!

I miss her....I still some pretty sweet older SI's around.....but it brings a tear to my eye!!! I'll post some pics here soon.

SI is a sport injected civic. Quite a bit faster than the original civics.

Johnny, I was debating putting "An SI" in the ***le but I only knew you use an if it precedes a vowel like:

an igloo.

Any well versed english majors willing to lend a hand so I know if I used the correct context! Like to know for personal preferences,

I used to have an S2000. Unfortunately in AZ Honda theft is INSANE. And you guessed it, it got jacked. I was thinking about getting a 4door 06/07 SI. But instead I have a 05 VW GLI 1.8t 6spd. I really wanted an STI but the wifey wanted a GLI (no clue why, couldn't talk her into the sti at the time, but now she wishes she would have gone with the sti). But our car is kinda close, its like a mini sti haha. recaro seats, bbs rims, 6spd, turbo, brembo brakes...Its just not AWD.

Anyways, SI's are pretty nice cars man.

Not without a modest amount of modification it probably doesn't. Smile Speaking of Ecotecs, the newer Cobalt SS's and the Ion RL's are actually pretty nasty. But the SRT4 Johnny's talking about would rape each one of them including the SI, at least in stock form. Anyway, all nice cars.

I haven't really raced anything other than a mustang gt that was close, he smoked me so bad... But anything else, is really easy to beat. I've found many young people trying to impress their girlfriends by racing me, and normally ends up with them behind me after I get infront of them and wave outta my sunroof to the girl laughing at the guy.

Yeah, the newer GT's are fairly quick. You shouldn't have too many problems hanging with the last couple generations before this one.
The new SI's are definitely nice. What kind of mileage do you get on the SI's these days out of curiosity.
