I just found out that I reserved a job in this field and been doing some research because honestly this was not my first choice. However my recruiter thinks it is a good opportunity. I personally see myself in Security Forces, but I'm open to anything because you never know if you like something until you try it. Like I said I have been researching it and have not found much(probably due to the security clearance), but a job description and general info. The one thing I thought was strange was the Tech school was only about 2 months I thought it would be longer. The info I wanted was more personal like, is it boring, rewarding or any first hand knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Let's see....did this job from 97 til 2004 then cross trained. You'll never deploy. You'll maintain bomb's, and warheads.

School isn't that long because the job isn't that hard. Besides you'll OJT once you get to your first base. Tech school is just an intro.

Very Black and white world nukes are. There's a right way to maintain and there's a wrong way. No in between.

I didn't think it was that bad. You'll never see the fruits of your labor, meaning you'll never see a nuke you maintained go off, unless you work on ICBM, in which they launch them every so often at Vandenberg AFB. Nuclear payload taken out of course.

Cross trained to get expericance in something else.

not really because of the whole security thing...personally i wouldn't mind telling you but i know people would delete the post and get mad if i did. its just crazy how moral is put on the back burner for the "mission" they are thinking about taking our thanksgiving and Christmas away...sure i signed up for the military i know there's long hours and sacrifices but sometimes it goes to far.

Dude,

It's not that bad of a job. Real stable career field, no deploying. Base assignments aren't the greatest location, but a base is what you make of it. I was at F.E. Warren for 4.5 years, and Incirlik for 2 years.
