Just found out my sons first base is DM. Any idea what type of planes he could be working on there? Any info he should know about the area? What is the base like,ect.? Poor guy was raised in PA.! What a change in climate

He will be working on A-10's, and I believe C-130's. I am structural Maintenance myself, but have never been stationed there. I am, although, from Phoenix, AZ about 2 hours away. Tucsan, az is a growing city, but the few times ive been there, was pretty nice.

DM is a great base! Nice living conditions and very hot in the summer. There are A-10's, C-130's, and helicopters.

AF is looking at DM as a possible F-35 base but community is worried about noise.

This town is definately retirement oriented.

I'm going to D-M too. I'm right now at Pensacola, on tech school. I probably know your son. We have an Instructor that is going to D-M too.

My son is in Pensacola too right now. Don't know how he found out his base so quick, but there it is...D-M!I was wondering if any of the others he was in BMT with would be heading to D-M with him, five from his BMT flight are at Pensacola right now, with him.
