That's what I am reading Tony. There are several folks that don't want to play on Gary's playground anymore because of a few rules, that in the end are basic common courtesy.

I'm glad there are a least a few people who get it, Heppy.

See you at the AFEF.

And have you considered the alternative? This place? For-ev-er? For-ev-er? For-ev-er? For-ev-er? For-ev-er?

The alternative is the Killing Madison forums, where most of us have been for a couple of weeks now. I agree with Giant Speck.

The new rules are not anywhere close to the old rules, and are almost as strict as the rules here.

I'm pretty much done over there. I will answer a question or two every once in a while, especially with regard to retraining, but overall, I'm finished.

I said this before and I'm gonna say it again, "Looks as if all of the "Katzenjammer Kids" want to come out and play...".

quote:
The Katzenjammer Kids was inspired by "Max and Moritz", a famous children's story of the 1860s by the German Wilhelm Busch. The Katzenjammer Kids (three brothers in the first strip, but soon reduced to two) featured Hans and Fritz, twins who rebelled against authority, particularly in the form of their mother, Mama; der Captain, a shipwrecked sailor who acted as a surrogate father; and der Inspector, an official from the school system. Several of the characters spoke in stereotypical German-accented English. Katzenjammer means contrition after a failed endeavour or hangover in German.

I spent five years on that forum. I shaped many lives.

One guy that had a contract for SP, I fought with his recruiter, his recruiter's station chief and then took the fight to HQ Air Force Recruiting Service to get his contract changed. That individual is now qualified and deploying soon in his new AFSC as a Persian-Farsi 1A8.

I provided not only insight, but no kidding quotes from Air Force, Army and DoD directives to help people through the enlistment and job selection process.

There are others that I helped with problems that I won't air, but that were not only career impacting, but life impacting.

You two need to just shut up and carry on. I have contributed more there than you ever will/could. I can't go back. I was there for a little bit and was already violating Swanny's new intent because some moron was yapping his gums. A guy that was force shaped out. But now that guy is protected under the new rules.

I will forever be in Swanny's debt. Without him, I would not have met my wife. I literally owe the man my life. Before that, I was dead set on retiring from the AF and using that money to basically kill myself with drugs and alcohol. Now I have a reason to live.

So basically, STFU and GTFO. <3

I'm confused as to why those on AFEF can't argue with someone for being stupid and not violate the rules ?

I mean if somone is being stupid or a jerk, its pretty easy to jump on them and say your peace.

People have a tendency to place more limits than necessary on themselves. That is NOT the case on AFEF. The main point being that you CANNOT arbitrarily "attack the person" for no apparent reason.

It is just "common sense" rules. If I don't agree with your statement then I can post my counterpoint. Value IS placed on the method you do it. You can't come out and say something like "You ignorant MF." That won't cut it. However, you can say something to the effect "I'm not certain where you got your information but it is totally and completely ludricrous."

A "tool" is a "tool." No way around that. Arguing is still allowed. It's real life stuff. I'm going to treat it like I would in the work place. There are things that are tolerable and there are things that are not tolerable (ie... You wouldn't call a new person that comes to your shop a "moron" right off the bat).

Some are just placing more limits on themselves than is actually necessary.

Just trying to avoid the fight of "You are a effing moron" and other immature name calling.

Just explain the reasons why a person is a moron. Its not that difficult, if you like to aruge.

Exactly, you can argue a point without resorting to "****ing R***ard" and statements of bodily harm.

I just find it odd that the new site tightened down some of those rules and from the comments it seems that quite a few don't want to be there anymore because of this.

Just find it funny that the loyalty was there when it was a free for all, but now that its not we see how far loyalty actually goes.

Meh, speculation. There were and are hundreds of users of that site and a vocal few exercised their right to object to the new rules, which look a lot like the old rules.

They can vote with their feet, and that's that.

The freedom was what made it special. When it was shut down over the contents of one thread and then brought back with, for example, a rule that says if attacked, you must be a victim and just notify a moderator, not defend yourself, it became just another site on the internet.

When loyalty is not returned, it tends to just go away all together.

More than being loyal to the site itself, people were and still are loyal to one another, and loyal to a certain culture/way of life on the intarwebz.

The venue may have changed, but the culture and faithfulness have not.

I obviously have never done anything here based on my awesome count. I signed up years ago it seems and never did anything on this site except read the newsletters in my email.
Well, I only 1/2 know what went on to cause this migration but hey, whatever. What's up?
edit: toad462 here. trying to change username now.

You're funny and so is your statement. Making a judgement from limited information when you do not know the individual. I've known "Dizzo" on the forum for almost three years now. As in any forum. If a person is there long enough you develop a "friendship" because you get to know them. This "Dizzo" HAS the repsect of those that "know" him for the man he is.

This forum you are curious about...

"Google" it!
