I'm here. 90% unimpressed with the base (leadership, not facilities...facilities are very nice), but OMG I love Arizona! Open carry of firearms?! I may die from ecstasy.

Anybody else here? Huge varieties of bars and such. I haven't checked out the base club other than the O Club, but I'll get to it.

Frank, I'm not there at the moment but wait till you see what's off base! Got a couple of steak places that are great! One I like is in Catalina Town on North Oracle called the Lariat.

It cannot be that bad I have been under some crappy leaders and some great ones I am sure there are some of both at DM.

I do plan on purchasing my first fire arm and going through all the safety courses so I can go to the range and practice.

Cowpony is where it's at... Cathouse is OK, if you're into that kind of scene, it's mostly college kids, and dudes who think/want to be in College. Stay away from bars to the east, and try no to cross 10. Enjoy DM, hopefully you're at a tenant, as the WG is all around junk and is run by a man who should have retired years ago. Yea sadly the whole rules about leaving religion out of mandatory formations seems to be often overlooked by many CC's. I don't think they mean any harm but often it rubs a good number of people the wrong way.

The reality is that organized religion is the cause of more death and destruction then any other source of conflict or death.

When people learn to accept the fact not everyone believes like they do we will be out of a job and the world we be rather boring.

Also 58 Degrees and Holding co. if you're into wine. They also have a great selection of imported beers, and they have a little bar in the rear, it's pretty pricey, but whatever. It's in the strip mall off Broadway, the one that Olive Garden is in, towards that rug store.

Just wait, there's a reason Tucson has the country's highest rate of red-light runners. They claim it's not the reversed lights, but I can't see any other reason besides someone anti****ting the arrow and getting t-boned. Oh and some roads downtown, are one way certain times during the day, and then they switch later on in the day...I don't remember which, but I'm sure you'll find them lol. Unless you work near 12AF, I suggest using the Wilmot Gate as much as you can. Enjoy yourself and explore things outside of the city, except Nogales. I suggest taking a few trips up to Mt. Lemmon, you'll see a complete climate change. Enjoy DM, it's a great base. WATCH OUT FOR THE RETIREES OMG WATCH OUT FOR THE FREAKING RETIREES. They start showing up around October and Jesus they can't drive, walk, see, or hear. They pack the clinic, they pack the fam camp, they pack the BX, OMG. Every base has it's "community" of retirees, but Jesus, DM's has to be the worse. I can't count on my hand how many ran into the damn shopette while I was there. Don't scoff at the warnings of the Monsoon either...seriously don't, there's a reason those gigantic washes exist, they fill up, and people get their cars washed away. It's pretty crazy.

SNOWBIRDS!
