Having used Firefox, since it's inception, I was looking forward to 3.0. It didn't take long to uninstall it. Has too many bugs, and until they clear them up, you're better off staying with 2.0.0.3.
3.0 has migration problems, even within Mozilla's own websites, and can't load acrobat plugin, as I tried to do researching more information on the C-27J. Hopefully, it won't take too long, but just to forewarn anyone wanting to install it, too many headaches.

Which OS are you using? I've gotten reports of Java not working, or other scripting languages. I haven't come across any such problem yet, flash works, PDF's and I'm as content as can be.

I'm using Vista Business at home, but haven't gone any further than loading it. I'm using XP Pro here at work, and it was Bug city from the start. I knew something was wrong, when I tried to go to add-ons, and it kept searching. Other times, it comes back as URL not found.
Going back to Ver. 2 is presenting no concerns.

I see where your coming from, there's a certain level of tolerance between having to work around issues or solve them with a new product. I'd say wait until 3.X.X.X until you try FF3.0. What alerted me to 3.0 being released was actually the 2.0.0.15 patch release. Been using 2.0.0.3 forever O_o

I did solve the Acrobat problem, by reinstalling Adobe Reader. Applause
When it was working right, I did notice the speed difference, especially with the dual-core chip I'm running, with faster memory...not over clocking...

I'll have to play around with 3 back on my dual core system then and see. One thing I did notice is that there is more user "friendliness" for lack of a better word. New download manager, setup options (within the program) are a bit easier to use. Auto completion on websites now tell you what website your going to if you've been to it before. Few other options that actually do have a purpose and ease of use but....I see a lot of useless junk that I dont want. It's the difference between XP and Vista, Vista's great...but there's just so much extra crap in there that it makes me shy away whereas XP is a great basic OS now that can run basically anything.

I couldn't even get into Bugzilla or online tech support. I'm not having that issue with Ver. 2
I'm running an Athlon64 3800.

I downloaded 3 and quickly uninstalled it as well. I had horrible problems with it not loading pages. I would try logging in to a page and it just wouldn't load it. This was the first buggy firefox release that i've experienced. I love firefox but I'll stick with 2 for now.

I still have to work on FF3 at home. Web searches kept hanging on XP PRO and clicking on hyperlinks in the web browsers would return a URL not found half the time. I know there's a problem with add-ons and themes not being compatible between the two versions.
I can't use my Irish Shamrocks on FF3. Angry Whip

I'm starting to have issues with it here at work as well. It might just be the holiday weekend and the company running updates on their servers.

I thought about partitioning the drive on my Master and downloading Linux from Open Source, like my son does, but I'm not running a business on it, so I'll stick with running Vista Pro.
So far, unlike XP PRO, I'm not running into any denial issues with FF3.

Vista and I just can't seem to keep the relationship going.

We broke up in March.

XP Pro, pared down to essentials, has yet to give me any grief, and I have been running FF 3.0 without hassle (although I don't see the big ta-do over it...2.x.x.x was just fine)

Linux is something we all should dinker with, and if able to partition a drive, we should do so...one is less apprehensive about that which one is somewhat familiar with...

But the world runs on Windows. Even Mac addicts come to that realization at some point. You can stray from the nest, but you still need to keep it in visual range...'cause you're gonna need it sooner or later.
