Please get this vile anti-military crap off this web site. I know the site has been taken over by a liberal media company - but even you guys understand basic marketing....right?
If a tree falls in a forest and lands on a politician, even if you can't hear the tree or the screams, I'll bet you'd at least hear the applause. Paul Tindale
Man, you need to take a chill pill. If you take anything in a Doonesbury cartoon strip as personal, you rally need to take a very long vacation. If you actually read the strip, it is more supportive of the individual military person than you could imagine. It certainly is not pro-Brush, but is not anti-military. And the "liberal media company" remark? I suppose if you are 10 light years right of Attila the Hun you may come close to them being a liberal media, but come on! This is a forum for the military, ex-military, and military minded folks. So get a grip and have a good day!~!

Not a new attitude. During the Second World War, General George S. Patton wanted to have cartoonist Bill Mauldin drawn and quartered several times because of his "Willie and Joe cartoons. Thank God cooler heads prevailed (General Dwight Eisenhower).
Just give me the aspirin. I already got a Purple Heart.
Every Doonsbery cartoon that I have seen in Newsday makes the Military look like morons who are blind sheep. Doonsbery is not for the troops. The Military is more educated and aware of Liberal bull ****. Newsday is the biggest liberal rag in N.Y.
Doonsbery has been one of the only people with the talent to say what a bunch of my Vietnam vet friends have been agreeing with for the last 35+ years. Unless you put your *** on the line and did your time...well...Don't talk unless you have walked it.
I agree with the gentleman who stated this is a piece of crap. We don't need the liberal tripe on this site, the national news is loaded with their bias and get their message out very well. I have noticed a shift to secular progressive on this site also. If this continues I will stop using this site. By the way, I was in Vietnam and Korea so does that give me a right to comment?
doonesbury is rememberd by me as a vile contributor to the ant viet nam vet campaign of my youth, he is not forgiven. it should be apparent that he is like the rest of those insects who have emerged from under a rock to exploit todays iraq situation for their own self serving politics that justifies our betrayal.
The Doonesbury bashers should take a look at something he does just for the soldiers. He gives them a chance to express their views and have a place to unwind. You may not like his politics but I believe that he cares far more for our soldiers than you are willing to accept.
Its all good. I like the perspective he brings to something as serious as the war (un-declared). If I need to be spoon fed the republican version of the Red White and Blue then all hope is lost. Soldiers have as many varieties of opinions as nationalities and races that serve our country.
Give it a break. You may see something that you are denying deep down indide of yourself.
My problem with Trudeau is that in May of 2006 He listed the names of our war dead in the Sunday Funnies bracketed on either end with his anti-military, anti-war, anti troop drivel.
#1 Noone should be allowed to use the names of the dead without the permission of their families to make an editorial statement because it gives the public the impression that those who have sacrificed agree with their editorial point of view.
#2 Trudeau's "Sandbox" Site was put in place to provide him with material to further his crusade without the hazard of getting sand in his own shoes. If he had the balls of say a "Hanoi Jane" we'd see him posing with an RPG in Iraq. This profiteering opportunist has got to be Al Jazeerah's favorite cartoonist.
He beats his chest and talks about how he is pro soldier, but anti war. You watch. He will take the gallows humor of men and women at War who submit stories to his sandbox and use it against them.
He has the absolute right to think and say what he wants, but Military.com is not obligated to provide him a forum and I hope they will use the comments of everyone in this forum to make their decision.
P.S. Bill Mauldin was a Soldier. He got his view of the war from the inside.
The Doonesbury comic strip is topical in nature and as such will stir emotions, good bad or indifferent. While we may not agree with the messenger, we must admit that he gets us to respond. How we respond is up to us, I can choose not to support the discussion or the comics, and yes I do remember quite a few dating back to Vietnam. So far I haven't seen the equivelant of a Phred raise its head and later in the Doonesbury strip Phred turned capitalist. Does that suppose the writer doesn't support communism?
My response isn't to damn the writer; I've taken another approach. I have gone so far as to post on a web site that has an anti-war following a request for used musical instruments for use at VA hospitals for patient's use. Its not a matter of if the site members support the conflict as much as if they'll support the service men and women.
I do not always agree with message of Doonsebury but attacks on the writer which are self defeating serve no porpose either. And if my memory serves correctly he does support Fisher House, I may be wrong, and if I am I will acknowledge it as much. But there are more evil things to become upset over.

He does support Fisher House. Check out this link.
The Sandbox
It has a link to Fisher House and I believe he donates part of the price of the "THE SANDBOX" to Fisher House.

Choose life!
Look we know the liberal side we dont like it drilled into us, they want us to lose just because they dont like the president. I suspect some conservatives will do the same when president obama starts a war. I am not a fan of obama, and I am very conservative, it does no good to derail american policies just because you dont like who the scape goat is.

G.Trudeau was trying to gain credibilty with the non-liberals by inserting a positive spin to his well-known negative military stance by "supporting" the U.S. military in Iraq and Afghanistan through his "cartoons". It's a thin veil. When not making his cartoon soldiers look like heroes, he goes about his Left Wing hate. This whole week has not been about our warriors, but about making the present Republican candidates look like fools.
