What's life like for an 88M in the reserves? Typical drill weekend?
And what about deployments, whats life like in the sandbox?

I am not a mike but 88N so I drill with 88Ms and so can tell you what we do. Typical drill weekends vary each time and for what your rank is. Those that arent in charge of anything just take classes and those that are will do what they need to do (ie teach a class, take inventory etc). Sometimes we do pt and qualify with weapons. This is just from my experience, other units might do other things but being a reservist truck driver, there isnt anything to drive. You wont be doing the actual mos until you are activated for places like iraq and stuff. I am a new solider who hasnt been anywhere yet so I cant tell you much about deployments exect that you will work long hours and do something.

Im a National Guard 88m. Typical drill is formation, pmcs, mount up and roll. Have more drivers than trucks so we fight to get stick time. Love the fact that most of the NCO's in the unit are civillian drivers so we get a lot of experience. (915's rule)

before i was active i was in the reserves. i wish i had stayed there haha. move quick and get done so you can get to the pub, go back to the hotel, wakeup and scramble to do it all over again. then come monday you blew most of your army pay on booze. Beer. but seriously, my old unit was more family than my current. it was more of when i gave someone a list of things to do ( as a corporal ) it was never aww eff you your not a sgt, but more of : hey guys we get this done we leave sooner, and people would volunteer. here in germany its alot different and ill leave it at that.
