My Dh was going to do another mos but that got changed and he is now going 88m. He already has CDL's ect, but as a wife I want to know the "REAL" stuff. I stand behind himm a million percent I just want to know how much time he will be away from home, ect. He is in AIT now, and we dont have a permenant party yet, I dont care if it is Tibet as long as we are together. Being an ex wife of a 76j (medical supply) I loved the military life, I just wished they would have sent the ex off at some point. He had a Mon- Fri job 8-4, and I know this is going to be way different. We are older, (I am 41 now) but even when I was in my 20's I always had guys from the barraks for supper, holidays ect even when I was so pregnant I had to cook sideways.I hate thinking of those young ones being away from home on holidays.I know this is alot of questions but I would like a heads up on it.The ex spent 12 years and never made it past E-4 even though I got commendations from the company commander for helping, ect, and I did not do it for that, but it was how I was raised.I want to be the best wife I can to my husband, and any answers will help. Thanks for all your answers in advance.
88M is definately NOT 9 to 5. Can't tell you anything till he gets his orders. 88M's are everywhere, aviation, engineers, you name it. If he gets a Trans unit, he may have a more regular schedule. You've been to Germany, if you get overseas, tell him to try to get into 37th Group. It's in K-town. Good luck!
I loved it there. I just want to be the best Army wife and supportive I can be. Besides Pirm is THE shoe capitol of Germany. Any suggestions on how I can help him?
I just want to be as supportive as I can be. He is my world. And hey, Pirm is THE shoe capitol of Germany. The only bad thing is going back and finding my elderly German friends (oma and Opa) are no longer there.
Until he gets orders, you just don't know where he'll be going. Cross your fingers. Half of my 13 yrs in I was in other units than trans. 88m's go anywhere, infantry-armor-everywhere. I miss the food. jaeger schnitzels. YUM!
