Ok so I've used the find button to get some info on this job but haven't really been able to find any. What I'm looking for is someone who has first hand experience in this mos, or just happens to know a lot about it. I'm currently undecided on what job to choose. I took the asvab and scored pretty well so I was qualified for about 175 jobs. My biggest decision is if I should go combat arms or not. Well I've already started pursuing a degree in finance, I don't have many credits but that's what I'd like to get a degree in. So if I didn't do Combat, I was thinking about 44C Financial Technician.
I've read up on the job as far as goarmy and about.com but I'm looking for some first hand experience. I'm hearing bits and pieces from post and discussions but nothing specific about what a day is like, what you can expect to be doing, promotion rates, actual chances of learning something good. I hear someone say, you'll never be doing any real financial/ accounting work, your basically a cashier handing out money, and taking care of people complaints. But honestly all the information I have right now good or bad I have to take it with a grain of salt, because it's not coming from someone who actually did the work.
I only really want to take a job that's not a combat mos if I'm able to get some real world experience, and training for a job that when I get out I can utilize. So if that mos can really help me learn somethings that I would use in a career as an accountant or what have you that would be great but if not, I'm not so sure I want to do it,in all honesty.
I already took the asvab, the physical and everything at meps, all I have to do is pick a job. I'm interested in Finance and in Combat, and need to pick a job in like a week or so, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and I apologize for the length of this post.
