Does the transportation Corp still use LCUs.

I found them quite cool and sharp as an army brat.

enjoyed driving them.. at the time I thought they were super cool. And as an adult they are still tops.

Pa was the top LCU skipper in the Trans Corp.

Thoue he never made a big deal about it. After his passing found out alot of award and achment that he did while at the T-school and other LCU type stuff.

That looks familiar. I see those everytime I drive to the parts warehouse here at Eustis. During battalion runs they sound off with their deep loud fog horns.

The Army has more boats than the Navy (a destroyer or air craft carrier is not a boat).

No they don't. The army has more "watercraft" than the navy has "ships". That's because the services use differing definitions of the words. If you use the normal definition of the word "boat", navy has army beat by a long shot.

Sorry to dredge-up this topic, but...

From what I've been told (by squids), "boats" can be carried by ships (submarines excluded). Ships are technically not "boats".

FWIW...

That's like saying the only truck on an Army post is at the top of the flagpole.

Completely false by the way: Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical TRUCK
