I was gonna say.....yea, sounds like an example of the stories that Bobby would tell me about Recovery School too. He's pretty darn good at it from what I understand. Got to use some of that while deployed--I called it 'R&R': recovery and repair.
ammoguru, did he get the belly box hung up on something or is it just wedged in there?
“FREEDOM IS NEVER MORE THAN ONE GENERATION AWAY FROM EXTINCTION. WE DIDN'T PASS IT TO OUR CHILDREN IN THE BLOODSTREAM. IT MUST BE FOUGHT FOR, PROTECTED, AND HANDED ON FOR THEM TO DO THE SAME, OR ONE DAY WE WILL SPEND OUR SUNSET YEARS TELLING OUR CHILDREN AND OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN WHAT IT WAS ONCE LIKE IN THE UNITED STATES WHERE MEN WERE FREE.”
I couldn't help but notice the "AM General" on the truck. Do they still make this truck. I was at their factory last winter and saw nothing but HMMWV's.
P.S. If you can get your unit to pay for it, AM General runs a GREAT driver/BDAR course and phenomenol direct support class. Who better to teach the class than the people who make the truck? Unfortunately, pretty much SOF is the only ones that go. The regular Army insists on teaching HMMWV classes themselves.
I've been truckin 15 years now, on my way to the sand shortly, just remember Truckin Rule #1- If you're ridin along and everything seems to be fine,You might not be paying attention. Rule #2--Two vehicles cannot occupy the same space at the same time. #3--You can turn a corner too slow a million times, but you'll only turn it too fast Once. #4 PMCS--dont always take the other drivers word that he "checked it", he might be having a bad day.

About ten years ago, my Guard unit went down to Nicaragua for AT. They built a school and a hospital.
There was an E5 who went "Baja-ing" on the beach in a Humvee. He got stuck in the soft sand near the waterline. While trying to get out, he spun his wheels until the Humvee was stuck up to its axles.
Sgt ________ gave up, and walked 4 miles back to base, to beg a wrecker to come out and help. By the time he made it back, the Humvee was gone!
The Humvee was found again... after the tide went out. The entire Humvee had been submerged in salt water.
Needless to say, SGT _______ was dropped down to SPC, and lost quite a bit of pay.
